How big is the universe?

Even with us traveling at light speed, where would it bring us? To the edge of our own solar system? Thats not far at all, it's like moving a centimeter on earth per year, it wont get us anywhere. In order to really travel into the unknown voids of space, we really need to invent some device that would allow us instant point-to-point travel :!:

There is none. My guess of what the universe is like is the following. If you'd travel straight into a set direction, without changing the course you'd end up where you're started at some time. It's hard to explain how that could be possible, but it's most probably how it is.

perhaps think of it as a bubble expanding outward. no begining, no end (edge) just outward expansion. the end is the begining is the end is the begining in every direction.

i do not mean it is WITHIN a bubble. but it IS the bubble. just like the surface of our earth. there is no begining nor end. this being said any sphere could be unending and infinite. (not talking about the volume of the sphere itself. just the surface of the sphere.

of course i cant base this on anything or back such a notion. just a thought.

Like Cell stated there is no "end" that is only if and when the universe collapses.

Right now it is expanding like a run away train.

If it doesn't stop and the earth is still around by then it will be torn apart same with everything else in the early stages of the universe.

Yeah right. But the way someone use his words tell what kind of person he is. If you think you are a polite person, use "dick,ass" word with your mum and see if she tells the same.
