Elements wrote:Perhaps you should simply be respectful to other peoples beliefs and let them believe what they wish to believe, Depends, whenever beliefs come into conflict with human/individual rights we have a problem. without trying to belittle them or sin some sort of arguament to prove that they are wrong. See, but if we didn't question religion, the Reformation (Western World) woulda never happened and we would still be in the dark ages, farming away and paying ridiculous taxes to some king.
If you dont believe it then thats fine but it doesnt mean somebody else cant or shouldnt.

I was thinking the same. And you are just writing down information teached in primary school.
Also your statements proves nothing. If you really are atheist you would have given this deeper thought and by that realized that you can't prove either the existence of God or unexistence of him/her.
Since when do you have to prove the nonexistence of something?

Hussain Muradi, activist of the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain [CEMB] and One Law for All Campaign, has been detained on September 10, 2009 and is facing imminent deportation back to Afghanistan where he will face the death penalty for ‘apostasy.’

since when do you have the authority to decide whether something does or doesnt exist? to say that no life form of greater capacity or intelligence exists, in and of itself exibits arrogant ignorance. our knowledge is limited to what we can comprehend. ultimately you are saying that you do not have the capacity to process something, therefore it does not exist.
doesnt deciding whether something does or doesnt exist basicly imply that you are god, and ultimately dont exist?

No. Shut up. Thats not what he's saying at all. I've never seen a Leprechaun, they don't exist. I shouldn't have to prove Leprechauns don't exist in order to say that. Same thing goes the Flying Horses, Minotaurs, Birds that burst into flames, Santa Claus, etc. Can i definitively prove those things don't exist, no. That doesn't mean that they are just as likely to exist as say people or bears or turtles. Not even close. There is a certain point where believing in what has never been seen and cannot be proven crosses the border of simple faith and goes into the retarded, that statement of yours crosses that border, friggin pole vaulted over it...

See, just because its unknown doesn't mean it = greater power/god/IT. If its unknown it just = unknown. TO say there is a god is itself incoherent and inplausible in the first place.
doesnt deciding whether something does or doesnt exist basicly imply that you are god, and ultimately dont exist? Don't try to bring god to the same lvl as material things like objects and animals, god is suppose to be an inmaterial being, therefor if you want someone to believe in your FSM that no one can see nor hear but you, you must prove it.

All sillyness aside, how can we say that because we don’t have the ability to comprehend something beyond our capacities, that it doesn’t exist? Because unknown doesn't = GOD/IT/Higher Power, it just = unknown. Do you insist there are no beings of greater capacity and intelligence than we are? Again are we talking about aliens or God? If it's god then, we've reasonable doubt, every arguement presented by a thiest since the Dark Ages has had holes in them, therefor its only rational to conclude that a higher being is incoherent. I am not saying that Athiest have the better arguements, thier's have thier faults. I have no proof that there is life on another planet within the universe, do I therefore insist there is no other life within the universe other than our own? F uck no,in the first place wether you make an assumption that life exist or doesn't exist no one would care about your opnion, your not someone creditable or knowledgable in that area.
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it. But then again it is a rational person who says, that thought was stupid.
