So what does Hunters get from leveling up Hunter as job?

Leveling up itself nothing, but as you help a trader you'll get gold if he sells his goods to a trade shop, and every week you can get your "salary" at the hunter guild, based on the amount you've hunted that week.

Reputation and control, if you're good enough. There were high level hunters on Olympus that pretty much always knew where the thieves were and made millions a day.

Of course the game is probably at the point where there really isn't much point in being a hunter under level 90 because of several things:

-High level thieves steal every trade
-High level thieves PK the ones they can't steal (the protected ones under 40) or drag mobs on trader
-Nobody trades anymore on certain servers because of the above, or because they're botting and don't feel like spending the time to trade, hunt, or thief
