There are real legits who never bot, and so-so legits who do play by-hand in parties at times and bot at other times.

Of course they cant be considered "legits" in the general sense of the word but for gaming purposes and in the context of this thread they are what the OP means and is looking for : players who play their chars in parties, at least at times.

Anyway wether in your 20's or your 40's there ARE real parties on venus. (as for the 80+ ones they're the easiest ones to get as that's when botters start to play their chars:;)

And if you're not getting any, run a free plvl party.
I do that at times, saves me from spending hours trying to build up a party.
And thanks to my gear it still gives me decent expe (mobs 3 to 4 levels below my char's, works good).

This thing is a bit of a nonsense : people whine that there are no parties but they hardly try making parties themselves. I know it's hard to see 10 people pass by your party and leave because you're alone in it (duh, how on earth will my party get to 3 then 4 people if you don't stay, you Farking idiot ???) but still that's the way to do it.

Thanks to the game mechanics normal parties are not the only way to have fun. You can trade. You can bot trap or assist a bot-trap being run by others. You can follow people passing by, assist them and join them after a while. Be creative and don't remain stuck in one gameplay, in only one way to get fun.

Be on the lookout for parties made by others, be willing to compromise, make party-play your priority and not expe-gain-rate. And be welcoming of others, i think that's the main obstacle. I tend to get pissed off rapidly that's what i still have to work on. Many times a very young noob suceeds in agregating a large party whereas i dont, because he has a joyous and welcoming spirit that others love to adhere to. He doesn't know how to play but who cares, he's got an 8/8 party rolling:)

As for the bots having won the war in venus, they havent so much won it as the "legits" having lost it. The venus legits were pseudo-legits and real closet botters (i'm talking about the leaders here). They were exploiting the legit community and treating the botters like objects, in pure nazi-style. That's what undid them. They united everyone against them, plain and simple.

Many legits on venus joined the botters as early as spring of 2008 because the so-called "legits" were freaking teenage-dictators on a power-trip.

They had rules to steal the drops from their legit parties and other obnoxious retarded immature behaviors. They claimed far and wide that scamming botters and using exploits to ruin botters was legit and good.

This is what they lost, not the war against botters but the war against respect of other people, the war against friendship and freedom.

"You are not allowed to be friends with botters" was a core Avalon rule and although it went undercover after a while it was still prevalent and in effect in practice until the end.

They lost because they sucked as human beings, only the jerks, the subs and the opportunists remained with them in the end and the Empire crumbled.

The good people in their ranks left them constantly during a year and a half, rightfully digusted at their actions.

Yes it was all about building a darkside-style empire, about "pwning" the server using people and treating them like drones, either their own members or their adversaries. Lowlife teenager jerks, that's what they are. That's why they lost.

The legits could still "win", but never again by treating people like dirt.

i think any1 who contributed to the hide up just led the lies from the avalon followers and they lost the fort because they got exposed and every1 decided that there wasnt a point and either botted quit or left avalon and created weaker(at the time) guilds.

It wouldn't be worth it. My wife and I are never online. Recently I started playing for like 20 minutes in the morning before work (4AM Eastern) just to check out the event, but I'm extremely extremely inactive. You'd really be the only guildie online ever. I might try recruiting if we actually get back into the game.

In my opinion (for what it's worth) it doesn't really matter if Fly and nightbloom botted on Xian or not. As long as they stayed legit on Venus, and didn't return to Xian, that's all that matters. They helped build a legit server (there will always be SOME bots), and I think they did a great job at it. There will always be people who don't like a leader, or have problems with how they run the show.
