Start

When I just started on CSRO, this was because I simply could not login to ISRO anymore. I could try for like an hour but still no game. I read a post on the official SRO forum about CSRO, the official Chinese SRO version, which did not have a bot problem.

I made an account, joined a server in one try, and loved it. Soon I met other people who were sick of isro and its bot, and a nice community was born. These were the ...

Good Days
Everything was shiny and fun back then. Nobody knew how to buy silk, and nobody really needed it either. We leveled, everyone by hand, and soon we earned enough money by leveling and trading to buy some nice SOS, perhaps a pickup pet, and life was good.
But things started to get less nice... the first working pservers were released, and since the group of people i played with were lvls 30-45, some people decided to leave CSRO and goto a pserver. Also a good friend got banned for buying a stolen item, which is still an offense that is typical for CSRO, kinda of a legal way to scam people.

Slow Decay
After this I joined a group of germans who were playing on CSRO since the euro update or so. They were in a Chinese guild, with 2 Chinese people who spoke english pretty well. All was fun again, since they could really help with some trades, and with the gold I could buy some plvl. At the same time, this is where it started slipping. Up to now everyone was playing themselves, but it became obvious that the easier way was to buy plvl. New people who came to CSRO were different from the people who started with me. Some begged for plvl, others tried to get bots working. The latter group didnt succeed for quite some time. Some Chinese explained to me how to buy silk through paypal, and I told some friends, and within notime many people knew how to buy silk. Some people started buying massive ammounts of silk, and selling silk items to gain easy money. I cant help but feel a bit guilty for this ... since the ability to buy silk attracted this new breed of players who used the silk to get gold, and thus get plvl in return. Somehow I cant help but feel that silkbuying contributed to ...

The Downfall
Chinese were botting all the time, most of them 24/7, and nobody got banned. Some Chinese tried to give, or even sell the bot to non-Chinese players, and this became increasingly populair. Slowly more and more people starting using 3rd party programs, and around this time I took a 6 month break from SRO. When I returned, everything changed. CSRO lost its innocence, something a Chinese friend warned me would happen a long time ago. By helping non-Chinese people to get access to bots, the Chinese ruined the international community. A new ISRO is born, and has now attracted some programmers to program fully english bots for csro, which are, just like in isro, pay-per-month.

The End
Personally I am sick of CSRO, and I wish that some things could have gone different. Silk items have idiotic prices now. Some people buy 1k silk a month just to get some advantage or to 'legally' buy gold by selling silk items. Nobody even plays themselves anymore below lvl70, and the ong hills are filled with people getting pfarmed. In the end, the login problems, or the goldbots, werent the things that chased me away from isro. The people who botted, plvled, and didnt play the game themselves did. And now they are on the brink of chasing me away from CSRO.

Be warned though, although TSRO or whatever foreign SRO version you play may seem like heaven now, it might be slipping through your fingers before you even notice.

I read this and it really resonates with me, Ive been on tsro since before people besides the turks and polish knew about it (even then there were like 10-12 foreigners that were playing it, and its turning into the same shit youre talking about,

the thing that stroke me is the botting, the fact that the gms let their own players bot is realyl the main the that caused disaster. . .if the gms were REALLY strict about botting, i.e. banning EVERYBODY foreign and chinese (or in my case Taiwanese) then those problem swould not have gotten so out of hand, hell even powerlevelling would not have been a problem sicne people would have to hand grind powerlvling -> a lot less peopel powerlvling -> a lot more people actually handgrinding ->better sro

so yeah you may blame the powerlvling or buying silk. I see the real problem is the gms allowing bots for so long,

Tsro is the same way, infact the gms SELL the bot to players, now of course many people dont want to handgrind or play in a pt so they see this and think its *unfair* (it is but they think its unfair becuase they cant bot, not because of unfair advantage blah blah blah)

people are getting powerleveled buying silk to buy plvl etc. . .now a free bot came out and now the server is filled with botters, tw people are mad at us (their own fault really, they botted too instead of handgrinding so I dont hold them innocent at all as the gms do listen to them and would have been strict on botting if the REALLY didnt want their server to be ruined eventually) and calling for us to be ip banned, gms dont want to do it becuase they will lose a source of silk money etc etc etc. . .

now if the gms and the tw people decided not to allow bots of any kind for any person (including tw people) from the beginning, then the shit wouldnt be turning into the crap hole that its becoming (tsro)

even if the do ip ban foreigner (which i really hope they do, since the tw dont really deserve the awesome foreigners that DO PLAY, not bot their version as they shit all over them anyway) their server will be as it was before we came...dead.

The only real successful sro version in terms of gameplay , community and gms actually giving a crap is Jsro, which you all cant play since you dont live in Japan, I did try it once but the lack of autopot (i think they impemented it now) and the lack of english speaking community people pretty much turned me off of it.

So pretty much I am waiting for esro and playing tsro just whenever i feel like it since im just tired of the tw BS and QQing over somethign they could have fixed (botting) a Loooong time ago but choose not to, and decide to blame it on us instead.

ANY game that allows botting (i.e doesnt ban them immediately) is going to turn into a craphole, period. So i dont realyl blame anyone except for those who continued to let the bot problem run wild and this means players and gms, not just gms.

Bots or not, TWs crying about foreigners now, botters or not, is pretty hypocrital, especially in the former case. If the GMs go all the way with banning botters now, I would like them to ban "their own kind" as well...

Also, if ISRO weren't the piece of shit it is nowadays, nobody would bother touching the national versions.

Agreed the best solution for SRO is for Joymax to step up to the plate, not private servers or other official servers. Sadly this may not happen.

that happens 24/7 in sjsro.. when i run to Roc MT, i see like 20 player ++ camping for isy..
