Gosh I've waited so long for this, So happy we finally have some signs of the new release.
I'm not sure what I want to roll as, everything looks so cool and original. Ill probably just be boring and continue a Human Ranger, cause I'm boring like that

I hope that they don't make some sort of stupid level cap, Cause GW is different to most MMO's where it seems that just because your capped, it doesn't mean too much, because being a good player is about developing skills and tactics with the insane amount of skills that they give you, weather it's for PvP or for PvE. It was never about spending a hell of a long time grinding to level, I wouldn't stop playing GW2 if they took on that sort of playstyle, but I'd just miss the mechanics of the "classic" way of play GW.
I'm probably not making any sense, so Ill shut up.

graphic wise looks a lot like the first which is not a bad thing but then again is a bit disappointing due to all the amazing looking titles that are releasing in the 2010-2011 timeframe. regardless of that this is a must for me specially if they keep the; buy once, get bored model.

Guild Wars has far too much PvE content to just ignore. You might not appreciate it like I do because you didn't start playing around the time GW first came out, but the experience was far more enjoyable with other PEOPLE in your team instead of just mindless drones you play dress up with.

As soon as Nightfall showed up with its heroes suddenly the game became an online single player game. Nobody ran campaign missions anymore and everything became deserted. I'm guessing it's the same way or worse since then. I feel bad for anyone who has to start fresh by themselves.

I also hate heroes... I rarely rarely bring some with me for missions. I dont think so many people should rely on heroes,just ask for your guild/alliance for some help

If you want to concentrate on PvE, go play WoW.

Too bad you didnt try the PvP side of the game, because that is where game shines.
And FYI, I played since the first days it came out, from 55/ss UW farming, to Wammo farming of Griffons / Minotaurs, or even spending few hours on Tomb of primeval King.

I even remember the times when prices of shards dropped to 250 gold in Lions Arch(theywere like 3k), I remember I had to sold all my 15 ectos, to buy some shards, and then got hitted by rollback Running Heal Other and Healing Breeze in HA, 6v6 in HA with Thumpway and Wanderlust Rit, with me playing a Necro/Monk with Healing Hands/Seeed, 2x heal other and 2x healing circles (But I gotta say I won halls daily) or epic SoMW spike. good times!

But still, GW has lots of things to offer, even after 4 and half years of playing (with a breaks from time to time), I still have aweseme time during nights if I go to HA or even if I'm bored I can go UWSC with Sin, its not THAT boring.

If you think that PvE & missions are only thing that game has to offer, then you didnt taste the real GW. QQ how much you want, in EVERY game there are people that say "Before it was much better" - even in Silkroad, and I must say, it isnt like that. Guild Wars is still full with players.

If you are nostalgic, goto presearing, its a small place, with small community, but people are friendly and there are no heroes, I spent a great amount of time there (Got to lv.18, but left) - try catching LDoA title.

The problem is that HA is only fun if you started early because everyone will only except "rank x+," so you are basically screwed and have to either run a random way or with other people that are rejects. And face it,Most other pvp modes suck (well TA can be fun sometimes). Also, with GW pvp everything is so structured, everybody runs their cookie cutter build with their cookie cutter team and there is no room uniqueness, which really puts a clamp on the fun factor of pvp.

@noobert mclagg - Well, builds change from time to time, when a-net nerfs some skills or people discover new builds.
GvG is awesome thing to play too, it can be more fun than HA.

You know how I played with high ranked teams when I was newbie?
I was rank 6, and formed a party with a friend (rank 6 too), said its rank 10++ party. (we hided our titles)
People will NEVER ask you to show your rank, if you form party (and have few people in party already). When they enter, ask them for title.
or, you can find a bunch of friends, start playing, you will eventually get a hang of it, you think I knew how to monk first time?
Just try not to fail while fightning, so you dont get flamed and people remember you.


Anyhow, since Guild Wars 2 is coming, it will be brand new beggining for all of us.
Few stuff will be transferable through Hall of Monuments, but I dont think it will have big effect your future gaming in Guild Wars 2.
Whats your opinion guys, since we have new races, for example, if I want to play Necro (or however it will be called in GW2), do you think more races will be able to be Necro, or only one specific race?

If its a case with more races being Necro, we can expect alot of cool looking armors.

Quit acting like a child, of course I've played the PvP side of Guild Wars. It's a joke. Certain builds are just absolutely broken now, and that's not the kind of game I enjoy playing. I haven't played the first GW in a long time and I doubt I will again, compared to what it was, it definitely is worse. Pre-searing? Right like I want to spend all my time in less than 1/10th of the content of the game.

The bottom line is GW USED to be a good game to play with friends, since then it has just degenerated into a PvP dick waving contest. The amount of PvE content in the game far outweighs the PvP content, and its gone to waste thanks to things like heroes and special builds. If they don't realize these mistakes when making Guild Wars 2, it'll end up being more of the same. A pretty game that has so much to offer, yet people would rather take the path of least resistance and autopilot through campaigns with custom-tooled NPC teams, then PvP with their farmed items.

I was never bothered by heroes and I dont know why you hate them so much.
I actually like them, because I knew to get pissed countless times by noobs who aggro the wrong monsters, running ridiculous builds, leeching or spending 30 minutes searching for monk (which almost noone played) just that in the end, I would need to take Alexia,
which would fail everytime, and hard-res while in combat. Nothing is stopping you from finding a crew, and enjoy your PvE anyway.

P.S. Pre-searing is really fun.

To be honest, compared to other MMO's, such as WoW or even silkroad. PvP in Guild Wars is a lot more balanced. Especially in TA, it's true in HA it does get a little annoying with cookie cutter builds and spike teams, but in small 4 man teams, I have yet to see another game that brings out the same "fairness" in PvP.

As for PvE, what your saying is bullshit. I'm part of a guild in which we go to dungeons or go vanquishing, or even help each each with missions etc. You just need to find a good community, then you can have plenty of PvE with minimal hero interaction.

But no, I don't believe what I'm saying bullshit in the least. I quit playing because all my guild wanted to do was PvP. All of my time spent in that guild was practicing for it and gathering skills that I had missed out on during my breaks. Every single area in Nightfall was empty, save for the few hubs where trading occurs and runs started. It didn't take long for the rest of the game to become deserted as well. If you wanted to run campaigns, you couldn't just team with whoever else was there, you had to spend time babysitting NPC heroes. All so you can finish and get those skills you need for PvP. Nothing was done just to enjoy playing the game. Hell, there were times I actually did find people to do missions with, and was dropped from teams for not having the best heroes with the best equipment.

But sure I don't expect people to understand my reasons for wanting to do co-operative missions with actual human beings in a "MMO" like Guild Wars. I don't want to be carried across to the end of the game for gold. I want to experience the damn game. Factions and Nightfall turned the game into PvP with a single-player afterthought. No longer would you enjoy the company of other people as you played through those epic missions, you have your perfectly customized team of NPCs to do the work and have the fun for you. IMO that is bullshit.

It might seem like this is all coming out of left field from me but I did spend an assload of time on Guild Wars before I came to these forums. It pissed me off to see how much it had changed.

Yeah I think so,because now they are plenty of PvE guilds focusing on Vanquishing,doing Dungeons,UW,FoW etc.

Only thing I didn't appreciate from GW is that I never got to play "competetive GvG" which is suppose to be the funnest part of GW

It showed more In-Game things,like some spell animations,more armors,etc. Also,is it me,or the graphics are a bit better than the 1rst trailer?
