Tl;dr $125,000.

If that was Tl;dr, I'm even more worried for the future of our society than before lol.

My article in the health care topic was tl;dr though, for sure :/

Let's sum everything up. 40 hours a week, 52 weeks in a year, take away a few for holidays and other things. And judging from the current house in-come I'd be happy with 20,000 EUR (~28,000 USD) a year. That's more likely the current total house in-come and I wouldn't really need more. Getting more than that would just get me corrupted. On one side money is power, but that power can get you down as-well.

Ideal? Whatever helps me to assure that my wife and I can retire using 401k, IRA's, a touch of social security (yeah, I'm not going to rely on that too much) and assets like our house and land.

Probably low six figures would be fine, as that's not TOO far away if I'm consistent and focused on my career.

Sucks when they don't let you work over time though. Which is almost always the case.

But then i wouldnt love my job as much. And so the money / enjoyability would go a bit higher on the money side.

Possibly a far shot, since I'm aiming for a career in the field of music.

$80,000 annual would be nice for me.

One of my uncles earns less than $30,000 annually but his job pays for his house, house bills, furnishing, plane tickets for vacations, his children's school fees, car bills, etc, + he lives near a vacation spot (Bali in Indonesia) that would be the kind of lifestyle i would want, not having to pay bills and living tension free rather than having a large earning :p

Sounds sweet on the paper, but there has to be some limit. I guess they wont finance his 5*-hotel nights in Tokyo when he goes there for X-mas with his family?

hands on is like mechanic, painter, electrician etc. a trade

Anything that will pay the monthly bills and that will allow me to have fun with a future family, etc.

I just want enough for if something like a tv or a computer/car breaks I'll be able to pay it off without having to worry about other bills and stuff.

do you have a degree? if you already do, you may want to look beyond trades

it depends on your location for the 3 trades that i listed, if your local housing market is booming, electricians will be in really high demand, they can easily bring home 5000 a month

if your local population is fine with spending money on their cars, if you are a speedy mechanic, you can expect around 80k annually, 100k if you are heading for the repainter/body modder
