Re: Is Tomato a Fruit or a vegetable?
Well, technically a tomato is a berry, so it's a fruit. However, it tastes like a veggie.

We should stop treating people like objects, or at least treat our objects with more respect.

Even if its a fruit because it has seeds, I will see it as a vegatable.
It doesnt taste like a fruit; it tastes like a vegatable; its purpose and recipes treat it like a vegatable. Green peppers have seeds too, and I'd never call them a fruit.

Re: Is Tomato a Fruit or a vegetable?
A fruit is a plants ovary/womb and vegetables are everything else. This means a lot of things we call vegetables are actually fruits. (bell peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, squashes)
The bananas you find in the grocery store don't appear in the wild and can't reproduce on their own. Wild bananas however, do have seeds. Bananas are still the womb or ovaries of a plant so they are still a fruit.

you must be eating something else then, ever heard the phrase "cool as a cucumber"? it's because they are watery and cool. now it's a different story if its cut up and put on a platter.
tomato= fruit.
I always eat it cut up, maybe thats why :o

Re: Is Tomato a Fruit or a vegetable?
it is, as stated a veggie by law. this was done to prevent confusion, if that makes any sense. but its a g-damn fruit. a real, fresh tomato doesnt make me thing veggie at all. they are soft and sweet and rich. they are a fruit.

^^Thanks Thomas42

Juliet
O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo
Deny thy father and refuse thy name;
Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love,
And I'll no longer be a Capulet.
Romeo.
[Aside.] Shall I hear more, or shall I speak at this?
Juliet.
'Tis but thy name that is my enemy;--
Thou art thyself, though not a Montague.
What's Montague? It is nor hand, nor foot,
Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part
Belonging to a man. O, be some other name!
What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;
So Romeo would, were he not Romeo call'd,
Retain that dear perfection which he owes
Without that title:--Romeo, doff thy name;
And for that name, which is no part of thee,
Take all myself.
It's just a name. The tomato won't change itself by saying it's a fruit or a vegetable.
