Re: women jailed for dragging kid on leash
Saw it already like a day ago... simply ridiculous.

The best way out - is through.
Re: women jailed for dragging kid on leash
First I laughed.
Then I realized she was arrested..
The hell? Society is so screwed up. If that was a leash with a harness and the kid was throwing a tantrum I don't see the problem. I wouldn't make a practice of dragging him around all the time, but sometimes it's the only means short of leaving them in the store.
InB4 the "omg so cruel!", oh wait..

Re: women jailed for dragging kid on leash
doesn't that really depend on the situation mostly people who think its cruel haven't lived in india, china and other countries u get beat alot with sticks and dragging there is considered like nothing, mostly the situation is the kid was being stubborn and not leaving with the parent and they dragged him a bit
u might think of me as a dick but comparing to punishment i been through that a heavenly punishment. But i still i think taking a kid in the corner and smacking the kid once and telling him u going now is a better idea, always work

Re: women jailed for dragging kid on leash
Rofl. Maybe he deserved it. When I was a child my parents had different ways of punishment ie. a hit with a bamboo stick or fly swatter. This is nothing compared to that.

I wouldn`t have dragged him. I would have backhanded him and have him walk.
Either way, I would have probably upset some people too.

Re: women jailed for dragging kid on leash
There was a local story a couple of days ago...they handcuffed the child to a pipe in the basement and the cuffs dug in so much his wrists bled and he will have scars.
The kid was lucky, his cousin ratted out his parents.
Yes, his PARENTS did that to him.

Don't know how I feel about that.
Typically if your child gets handcuffed at home, to the point of bleeding; he wouldn't be putting up a fight in a store and get dragged everywhere.

I know how I feel about it...if you're truly a parent, the kid will typically not require handcuffing or a leash.

Re: women jailed for dragging kid on leash
leash is not only for restricting the kid, some people also use leash on their kids to prevent their kids from running too far away and get kidnapped, which happens a lot in some parts of the world.

Re: women jailed for dragging kid on leash
Lol my friend saw a woman walking with her kid on a leash at the beach (lol that rhymes).

Re: women jailed for dragging kid on leash
So oddly enough, I know some people who put their kids on leashes. They weren't like dragging them around or anything but it was to keep them...well...on a leash. It was really weird.

Re: women jailed for dragging kid on leash
The kid probably called her bluff.
She probably said "Ok, we're leaving now" to which the child responded "NO" so the mother said "Walk with me or I will drag you." (Hypothetical situation).

Re: women jailed for dragging kid on leash
It is not inhumane to put a kid on a leash, specially the infants. It keeps them from wandering away and doing stuff they shouldn't be doing.
What is inhumane is how she was dragging the kid. She should have picked the kid up and carried him if he was being difficult for some reason.

you sound like someone who doesn't know the first thing about parenting. Kids are naive, stupid, ignorant, stubborn, curious and a host of other things that make them a danger to themselves. My parents didn't use a leash but if a stepped out of line i'd get a belt to my backside for about 5 minutes. Even at my very best behavior in public places i tended to wander off in crowded places without even realizing it.
This leash lady was probably at her limit. She probably had alot to do, little time to do it, and no baby sitter. Im willing to give her the benefit of the doubt, i've yet to see the parent who never had discipline problems with their kid. My parents wouldn't have needed a leash but they wouldn;t hesitate to smack me in public and drag me out by the arm. Her problem just got caught on tape and now everyones acting like foul hypocrites. Like when they have kids their children will always listen, and they will always have the time to discipline them properly, and blahblahblah what a load of BS...

You do know that any bad-mannered or mean spirited kid is the result of his upbringing. Whereas his upbringing is basically his/her parents. Its purely the parents' fault for raising stupid, mean kids or nice, polite kids. Although I do agree that kids are rather what you've described them to be, but a positive upbringing can change all that.

You are wrong. My parents raised 3 kids currently 22, 20, and 19. We were and always will be completely different. Even though the eldest and I are well mannered the youngest is and has always been rude, disobedient and stubborn. No amount of beatings (there were many) or lessons changed that. Parents can only work with what they are given. Parenting plays a large role in a child life, that much is obvious but some kids will refuse to listen and there is a limit to what you can do to them at that age.

Re: women jailed for dragging kid on leash
Doesn't seem in any way awkward to me.
Parents use leashes on infants all the time, like someone above said; to prevent them from wandering around.
This was most likely a sole example to the kid, the kid being a real pain and it was probably like.. 'come home with me now or I'll drag you out of here' and this was just a lesson.
It's obvious a mother doesn't drag her child around like this from store to store but it probably just happened 10 seconds before this video started and she probably ended it at the exit of the store.
There are no scraping bricks or any rough concrete, it's a smooth floor.
I can't believe how people can throw sticks and stones at this woman for doing something as unharmful as this. It's sooo easy to judge someone from a situational video like this.

Every kid will go through a phase in life or a moment in life where they will wake up from their immaturity and snap out of it. Everyone is born different, I know, but it takes truly terrible parenting to raise a kid who won't hold true to the adage "with age comes wisdom". Its very rare to find someone who doesn't mature at least a little, and those who don't are usually the people who wind up becoming serial killers and druggies. He/she's only a teen - keep that in mind. And realize that its at that point in life - late teens - where most human beings are at their lowest levels of maturity during their whole lives.
