L4D already has enough mods being made for it right now. I'm already having fun playing through the newly finished Death Aboard and 3 other unfinished campaigns. Each are unique and more fun than the original imo. Death Aboard and soon Dawn of the Dead will show just how much better the community is than Valve. L4D2 was announced WAYY too soon. Source showed a major update from 1.6 boasting much smoother and nicer graphics. L4D2 has the exact same with a few special updates and mods. I'm pretty sure it won't be that hard to transfer that over to a download-able mod to L4D. I'm pretty sure DOKU could do it easy. Props to the maker of the pulse rifle. <3 that shit.

Complaints over L4D2's appearance are a little weird. Maybe for those who were dissapointed should read up on Valves own press release on their Source engine. Just like they planned on installments of HL2 instead of creating entire new games, example HL3... They do the same with the engine. They don't plan on making a Source 2 engine, at least not for while. They just continuously add more the engine making the engine more capable.
But I'm a TF2 fan and L4D bored me. But that's just me, but I do agree about making users pay so much as if it's a new game. It should have sold as either an expansion or better yet, just an update like they do with TF2. Have fun with L4D 2, just more of L4D 1,

More creative than since Valve has a full dev team working for them. DOKU's survival mod is dam fun with unique zombies. Really bring backs memories of CS zombie mods with the whole invisible + headshots only theme.
Death Aboard just seems so much more polished than the 4 basic campaigns. NM is alright, the rooftop battle is unique. Dead Air and Death Toll are about the same for me. Nothing out of this world for me. Blood harvest is unique in the whole forest theme, as that is that hardest for me to play in. Death Aboard just offered so many new little concepts in 1 shot, I feel bad for Valve. Tilted combat, hidden canisters, a GIANT finale stage for once. In all the normal campaign, getting from the hold-out spot for the finale to the rescue zone was a breeze. On Death Aboard, you actually had to be on your toes to make it to the rescue. I've had many times where we almost made it to the rescue only to have a tank charge out of the corner and slam us all into the water and get horded. The stuff they've released so far really make it seem like L4D2 should just be an expansion. New wep, new zombie, new skins... sounds like stuff I can download from any l4d mod site...

Of course it will seem better, it's new for one and it's a mod meant to try and improve. I'd like to see whoever made death aboard make it from scratch though ;d.
And I'm sure you'd be saying how awesome L4D2 would be if it was just a mod.

I'm sure someone will figure out a way to make it into a mod for L4D.

I really don't see the point in wanting L4D2 as a mod for L4D1 lol, if your gonna be using the pc version you can just dl L4D2 anyway. Unless for some reason you want to play L4D2 online in L4D1? >.>, which I wouldn't think even if it was made into a mod would be allowed anyway since its just cheating them out of money, in which case you'd be better off just dling L4D2 like I said lol.
If you loved the first game and you're not planning on playing this, you're an idiot. It's just that simple.
haha. so true
It looks great, they didnt change things that didnt need to be changed, and added more to what already was a good game. And they're giving you guys the extra content for L4D1 free to you pc users, so stop cryin about Valve.
