I do indeed have a lot of free time, no denying that. However, I have never made it past 60, nor have I ever bought silk. I never plan to buy silk either. I do however, don't see the point in making a thread, and telling somebody they need an 'intervention' because they have a hobby they have a right to enjoy.

Well I honestly see no reason to feel sorry for her since, as Deadfall mentioned, it's basically her hobby. I know people who spend thousands on coin collecting, someone in my family did that. He never took them out, never looked at them, it's as if they don't exist anymore. But the fact is, it once gave him something to "do" something to spend time on when he wasn't busy going to work or school or dealing with sports/friends.

Sure it may seem different but I really don't think so. She spends time on SRO when she wants to, she'll go to work, or go out with friends, SRO is for her spare time; it's her hobby.

If she wants to be competitive so be it, I still don't see how spending money equates to having no life or being oblivious to real life, I see no connection. That's like saying spending thousands on your wardrobe means you have "no life" but buying tons of wal-mart clothes is "fine". Their priority's are just different, that's all.
