laptop hd question

Post by Rainigul »

sup son, anyways, my HD on my laptop is about to burst, so I was gonna buy a new one (this one), but I'm not 100% if it will work with my computer, so I opened it up and checked out the specs, it is indeed a serial ATA drive, but mine's a western digital, so I'm not sure if it will make a difference (doubt it). The only reason I had doubts in the first place is because on the site, it says it works with an intel based processor, but I've got an AMD.

Anybody know if this will be an issue? I'm 95% it won't be, but I don't wanna waste $75

Thanks.

I can't see why processor would affect on HD. I'm not 100% sure though.

It will be perfectly fine.

S-ATA is the technology behind ALL harddrives.

Seagate is just the make of your HDD :)

How much money do you usually save by building your own versus buying one with the same power? :?

I'm not going to build my own hard drive, was just gonna buy a replacement instead of having to shell out for a whole new laptop.
It'll be a hell of a lot cheaper, if I bought a new one with my current specs, I'm expecting to pay at least $400 (I have a cheap laptop, lol). I'm planning on buying a desktop soon, or I might tryyyy to upgrade mine, but I dunno if my cpu is soldered to the motherboard or not, i'm gonna open it up later and find out.
I'm also not sure 100% on how to replace dual core processors, I dunno if they both need to be the same or what.

Anyways, thanks folks
