Actually, atheists are also believers. Religious ppl believe in God, atheists believe God doesn't exist. Atheist always laugh at religious ppl because they believe in bs, etc... but the fact is atheists are nothing better.
Let's take an example, a child who is told about the dinosaurs. He never saw a real dinosaur, never saw its bones. The only way he knew about its existence is or from a comic book or his parents told him. And then he started to believe dinosaurs exist.
What happened? Everyone in the world experience the same way. You always think that your belief is smt you choose, but actually it's not, it's the community belief. And I call it an blindly belief. Because you believe in smt your parents tell you so, your teacher tell you so, or you never heard about smt and you consider it doesn't exist. You never questioned yourself why the opposite of your belief can't happen and what stops it from happening. If from the childhood, you learn things from ppl, but when you grow up, you start to investigate the truth is a different story.
Now, back to the main topic. Someone mentioned in above posts that "beauty is an illusion of deception". That's a valid statement.
Maybe many of you never questioned yourself "why do I live?" and "what's the goal of my living?". Of course, the first question is kinda impossible to answer. "I was born, I eat, I live, I work, then I die". Is that all? If everything will come to and end sooner or later, so why is it matter to live longer or shorter?
The first question remains an unknown. Let's talk about the goal of your life. Before, I always told to myself that the goal of one's life is to possess 3 of this: love, power, money. With the 3 of this, you can own almost everything in the world. - Money. Once you have money, you can do lots of thing, this is equivalent to having power (if it's not hiring mafias, make an army, then it's smt else) and having love (yes, lots of girls would be your tails, your love will be constructed using houses, car, dinners in restaurants, cinemas, an unforgettable date => fake love)
- Power. Having power is like having money (if it's not stealing the banks with your army, you must be a president or some kind of authorities). There's always an equivalence between power and money.
- Love. This one is a little special than money and power. When you have love, you'd have the others, but when you got money or power, you won't 100% get love (the real one). This is the power of charming everyone (marry with a princess, be friends with authorities, with rich ppl, etc...).
That's it. But later, I think about this. If I die, all will become a 0, I can't bring money with me, can't bring power with me, or even my (fake) loves. So I need to find smt I can take with when I die or even leaving smt very valuable. And I think I found it. 1st is my name (if i'm able to achieve smt great and have ppl remembered my name). 2nd is my true love (then when I die, she will stay by my side although I lost everything). When i'm able to find these 2 things, It doesn't matter if I live long or short, I would walk (fly) away with a smile without regret. (yeah, you can also realize that there are ppl who die, but regret they can't bring everything with him)
Now talking about the illusion of life. Beauty (or desire of shape) is smt that everyone desired. When you go to a bar, why do you always want to talk, drink with hot girls, date with them? Because of this, you are stopping yourself from meeting other girls (ugly or not). In this case, I call it "you search for love". Imagine the research of love is like a maze with many doors. So you opened the "door Beauty" first. There are many "fake love" in every direction. Weither you found the real one or not depends on your desire to find it, the more you'll confuse yourself that you really found it. The real one it's not something you could find with some dates or having sex together. Your biological desire and perception fool you.
That's really really bad to search for love. Don't try to "search", but "feel" it. And don't just put handsome, rich or talent guy in your charming list but forget about other guy (poor,ugly or not... -.-). There are lots of cases that ppl are friends for years, but suddenly they start loving each other. I call it "love found you", so in this case you'll really find the real one. Or any love that didn't originate from your personal desire. Whoever like ugly woman suffers the same, because his desire originate from the shape of her face, body, skin color, etc...
Money and power are also illusions. Maybe you ever heard "money is the root all evil". I didn't say you shouldn't have money, but you need to have enough amount to live. When you date with a girl, sure you will treat her well, inviting her to dinner in a romantic restaurant. Then she loves you, but again, that's just because the way you treat her.
Power? Oh well, who would love a weak man, can't win the rival of life, physically or not? But again, that's just an illusion, you stopped yourself from opening the "door Weak", which could probably lead to the real love. In the end, you love someone because he is "not weak".
Conclusion, most love because of something (that you need, want). It's rare to find someone "love because of nothing" (a pure love)

Of course your belief is something you choose. Your parents can tell you about dinosaurs and you can choose to call them liars, or believe them. You can choose to believe in God, or call believers liars. Obviously, belief in something pretty much requires that someone, or something, tell you about the thing first. You can use your imagination to come up with something new to believe, but that imagined thing would be based on things you already know about.
In order for me to believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster, I would have to already be aware of the alleged existance of three things: monsters, spaghetti, and the ability of creatures to fly. Those ideas got passed to me from other people, or just simply seeing those things. Someone can tell me about the Flying Spaghetti Monster, or I can just see those three things, and decide... you know what? Monsters are real, spaghetti is real, some monsters fly. I bet you there's a monster out there made of Spaghetti that can fly! And my daughter can call me a liar.
So yes, beliefs do get passed on from other people, but you aren't forced to believe just because the community tells you so. You choose it.

If you obtained your significant other because they were attracted to power and money, which I will agree many people are, then yes - your relationship is probably going to be a shallow one based on ... power and money, not love. It is completely possible one might 'grow to love' in such a situation, but also completely possible that they'd leave if the other went bankrupt.

Unlike "God," dinosaur bones are actually real - they can be studied, felt, seen, and in your case, tasted (you poor autistic fuck). If you've actually picked up any "Holy Book" of any religion, you'll notice several things, most of it is too broad and can be interpreted in almost anyway (thus you can make a square fit into a circular hole if you force it) and most of the claims are not backed up by anything else except blind faith in the book.
