How much room does this game take on the disk once installed? If it's small enough, around 2 gigs?) perhaps I can throw it on my thumb drive to use with my Linux Pendrive so I can carry Jade Dynasty with me wherever I go.

Yes, atleast i think so maybe a high-lvl uber pro thing or something can change that

It's 1.49gig on my drive, extracting takes up around 1.5gig (it's not compressed)

Well when I get a chance to download and try it out, I can just install it on my Linux desktop, and then copy the game folder to my 4GB thumb drive. I'd just be interested to see the game work on a portable Linux-based bootable thumb drive.

I really wanted to give this game a chance so after getting bored at level 7 I 'botted' my char up to 15 to see if the class would make the game slightly interesting.

I deceided I wanted to be a warlock, so at level 15 I got a quest to travel to the modo faction npc.

When I got there he was surrounded by aggressive level 30-40 mobs that 1hit me whenever I got near him.

After dying 3 times I finally delivered the class quest before getting slaughtered and so I returned to the starting town and got myself some modo gear and got my first warlock skill.

It turned out the skill was useless and I still ended up grinding with just using the mega overpowered level 1 blow to one hit my way through mobs.

This is the most boring MMO I ever played. One hit grind everything with the same skill up to level 30? What were they thinking! Everyone I've seen quit even before choosing a class at level 15 let alone play the game some more to level 30.

And whats up with the botting thing? If they just had the afk-blob that slowly grants you XP that would have been reasonably cool but to give everyone a bot just takes the purpose of playing out of the game since most people only care about leveling fast anyway lol. Not to mention 'playing' this game holds the same definition as SRO meaning endless grinding anyway.

At least in SRO you would start right off developing your class and using different skills, weapons and armor.

what is the server u guys are on and is there anything i should kno before starting. im planning on going jadeon they look pretty awesome xD

Most people here play on The Billows (just choose USA- East on the patcher), if you want to 'bot' you need an esper (you get the quest automaticly) and you just have the choose your attacks on the Hand symbol, place you potions and press the little sword on the weird staff. oow i forgot, they're mainly on Realm 15 (not that it matters, it's like channels on cabal)

When it comes to leveling, the "bot" isn't as useful for leveling fast as you believe. The game is far from perfect but it offers much more content and variety than SRO and most F2P MMOs.

I guess, and everyone their thing ofcourse, but much more content? I didn't play much but besides from flying mounts, fishing events and jumping I didn't see more refreshing content than SRO had.

I personally found Runes of magic to have great content.
Wide variety of instances, more than decent character and class customization, multiple races soon, mounts, more fluid wsad movement, player housing and guild castles..

In my opinion SRO had little to no content.

I can't go into detail about much of the content that JD has because I'm still too low level to experience most of it or I'm not high enough ranked in a certain area to get the benefits but I'm sure that this stuff isn't just for show.



It already has things like alliance wars, battlegrounds, unique bosses that spawn, quests/npcs that only appear at certain times, etc. The amount of depth just makes SRO seem elementary. Many of the events are set up so that the events are generally fair for everyone.

Also, I dislike instances. I don't play MMOs to be placed in my own little world. I believe instances defeat the point of a game being an MMO. Having a few are ok, but I don't think having many is a good thing.

I've never played Runes of Magic because I don't like the art style.

must manually patch...

go to main site and dl section. easiest way to patch is through manual patch. they post one for every update ^^
