Deguilding during wars........must be stopped
Deguilding during wars........must be stopped
Not sure any of you hae seen this but it has become a pathetic tactic to put people under murderer by leaving thier guild while being attacked.
It is also common that once a war begins and someone starts loosing they try and recruit people to turn the tide.
Both of these are simply counter productive to good solid GvG battles and they need stopped. A simple locking of the guild during war times is all that is needed.

I agree with your point on leaving a guild in order to inflict Murderer status on an enemy. However, I believe it is thoroughly realistic to expect guilds to recruit 'mercenaries' to join their war cause temporarily.
I think such acts are a question of etiquette, and should be resolved as an agreement settled upon between the two guild leaders before a war is initiated. As in any PvP fight, the contenders should agree to the rules before the fight begins- in PvP this means things such as whether to use pots or pills, etc. In guild wars it should mean whether mercenaries can be recruited to join the battle.

I actually did that thing in Mixmax's Sig!

I voted "no" but I should clarify: I think players should be able to leave a guild at any time, but invitations should definitely be locked during a war. If your members don't care about the guild enough to stick through a war, OR if you are a bad GM and declared war on a guild 20 levels above you, members should be able to run away from that war.
LOL
everyone can chosoe to do what they want, the whole point of freedom, if osmeone cheated and left the guild midfight giving another person murderer status, it wouldn't be so bad if the fight was pre set in the middle of nowhere, it gives that player a chance to make a run for it and grind off the points immediately, rather then have to sneak out of a town literally camped by players way too damn high to be there.
but Bake is right, like hell am I goign into a war i have no chance of winning.
I'm level 43, so, i'll try to take on 48's hell maybe a 51 with some guild mates, thats the whole fun of it, but when you're level 30 and you're level 25 friend is screaming for war every 30 seconds like a selfish retard and you end up fighting some bot guild like Xlaw, whats the point? you're just losing xp repeatedly, no challenge, no fun. so people have a right to leave during a war, perhaps an option to remain neutral and stay in the guild.

Imma vote yes, but say this too.
WAR ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE to keep clean fight.
With many players on both sides, its very hard to organize. Even with pre-set rules, shit happens.
People complain.
People gank.
People shit talk.
People recruit
It just happens. No one likes to die. No one likes to lose.
LOOK people its WAR. It aint candyland where everyones gonna fight nicely and only kill you if they are allowed to. Its open season.
I see so many people complaining about being "picked on" cuz there lower level too. LOOK, your in a war. If you don't want to die, DONT FIGHT. Dont sit there and complain that your a 38, and a 44 cracked you upside the head. Then come on 'all chat' and use foul language and insults because you died.
Jebus.
And everyone talks about 'wall hugging'. EVERY TEAM WALL HUGS for at least a couple minutes.
If half your players are reviving and comming from town, OBVIOUSLY your not gonna charge the field. Or if you just lost a major attack, OBVIOUSLY your going to regroup, and discuss the next move on teamspeak. We spend 2 minutes talking on TS about the next bold attack, and people sit in all chat talking shit about wall hugging.
Then we take the field (yay!) and they DO THE SAME THING.
You will never have a clean, polite war where no one gets mad or fights fair. Its war.
And you can't say 'fight honerably'
Theres 23 people in this guild who play the way they want to, who make there own decisions, and want to win too. You try to keep things to a minimum, but it happens.

Well said. But things such as recruitment can be managed without having to rely on every member of the guild, as only a select few have the power to recruit new persons. If the leader(s) of both guilds can come to a friendly agreement before a war, mercenary members shouldn't become a problem.

Aye. I don't like res-kills, smack talk or complaining either way.
But as much as you repeat yourself constantly, people still do it.
Ya keep it as best ya can. If both leaders are on the same page, the rest can usually be overlooked.
However, if your at war for a REASON and not as a sport..... (like the people who murdered Luv_Bears B/F) screw em. Let em all die!

I have no issues with people bringing people in "upfront" at all. Simply stating "hey we are bringing in these few guys to even it up si all that is needed".
The deguilding during the war though should never be possible regardless if you are that poor lvl 24 in a lvl 40+ war as if people deguild during the fight the person that kills them gets murder status and can no longer participate in the war unless they wish to risk the item loss and high % exp loss.
When you create a war........have your team ready.....then a roster lock down stops deguilding during combat.
War is not impossible to keep "clean" within the tools that are available in the game. SD_Ryoko, not sure why you went off on your little rant there isnt anyone complaining or bitching abotu anything but one particular thing that is very impacting and easily controlled........lock the roster during wars and this issue is over.
War is setup to loose X% of exp which is very tiny, it is also setup to not give you murder status and the reason for that is to encourage wars. Allowing deguilding to remain only discourages a very big part of the game. A player cant just take off thier Theif suite immediately, nor his hunters or traders suite and the reason for that is the same.

Everyone talking about war; I am too. My comments not directed at any individual or at your topic of guild locking. My comments are general statements about experiences we've had in wartime.

What I was thinking about the losers who detag in guild wars is that they should implement a timer and a are you sure about leaving window so that they'd have to click twice and then wait another 10 seconds. In that time they'd be dead, no murderer and guildless.
Because in Babel, I was watching United having a guild war in hotan after they helped escort our trade to hotan. They warred with ngyuentrai and the only thing they did was detag...then you'd see at least 10 detagged members run after the murderer. While the leader sits in and watches.
EDIT: Btw STINGER = Stingerson?
