Quick Reply, and Coding Changes 6-28-09

Post by Ryoko »

1. Users who didnt provide an avatar or location field will be redirected only to their own profile, instead of their profile and site discussion.

2. The minimum post requirement for making a new topic in general discussion has been removed. This restriction was once added to stop people from making a new 1 post account to post flames or pointless topics. However, it forces them to create posts in site discussion instead. This should help resolve that.

3. Quick reply has been added. Although a little buggy at the moment.

Edit 1: Quick reply no longer sets your curser focus to the bottom of your screen.

Edit 2: There is now an option in your profile to disable quick reply if you don't like seeing it

Love the quick reply feature Ryoko :)

Edit: wahhhhh theres a bug with it, when you try to post using it, it gives you this message "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again." and redirects you to regular posting style

Oddly, I dont think I changed the location of the online status.

This post created with quick reply.

Confirmed; If I remove the entire include, the offline thing doesnt change anyway. Unless it was moved and I overwrote it. Sorry. ^_~

how about "minimium characters per post" ?
Because "lol" or "+1" makes to +1 to their post count lol and that means sorta spam.

Anyways, Quick Reply FTW!

I could have sworn the board already had a minimum text requirements on posts.

I fixed the online thing. I think.

One way to stop "+1" post would be to add a Like and dislike feature like on youtube or something.

i could post with one character, "j"

i think the requirement is just on if you have at least 1 character, cause you cant post blank.

This is a test to see if it includes signature when using QR

Oh, and apparently the board only has "maximum" characters for posts, there is no option for minimum text.

It has never shown when Global Mods edit. Pushing for an all nighter, Captain?

*Edit: does editing effect sig in QR? Test*

Shown that it "was edited" ? Sounds like your asking for something totally unrelated to quickreply.

Its not odd; its just that the cache for the boards templates wasnt flushed yet when you made that post.

^ Does your sig have to be so huge?

I suppose I could seperate "include signature" to the box below. The way it stands, it will always appear. But eh. If were gonna add to quick reply, lets just add everything and have a full blown not-so-quick reply at the bottom >.< That, would be worlds more complicated

The exact limit is 550x200 pixels.

Small note, QR doesnt show if your not logged in.

And apaprently I can't delete my +1 because someone replied to it. Gah.
