Unable to create restore points?

Anyone know how to fix that, I have it set so that I can set restore points, and I've restarted trying to do it several times.
I've got it set to allow the full 12% for system restores.

Kind of a dumb question but is there any space on your HDD?

I'm going to assume you have vista.

Type services.msc in the start search box. Click on the 'gear' icon.

Once the window has opened up, scroll down to
Volume Shadow Copy service

Is it set to automatic? If it isn't, then set it, reboot and see if you can make a new restore point.

Navigate to C:\WINDOWS\system32\Restore folder and rename rstrui.exe
to rstrui.xxx.
System File Protection should replace it. If it is replaced click on
it and test System Restore.


if that doesn't work then.......

The next step would be to reinstall
System Restore. The only downfall is that all restore points will be
purged in the process. But if SR don't work it doesn't matter anyway.

if that doesn't work, then the only solution is to kick both your PC Monitor and PC tower.

I followed the guide to the letter but once I direct it to srframe.mmf it just closes and does nothing =\

My computers about to shit itself, I can feel it and I cant back it up

funny how this comes up when i turn mine off to improve performance >.>

anyways this system is practically useless there is times i tried this to fix something i did in windows and it didn't do a thing! if you feel your computer is going to go the crapper sometime soon reinstall windows or use things like ccleaner and jkdefrag to clean windows up.
