I am torn between wizard/cleric and wizard/bard..

I am sorry if I am in the wrong area cause I didn't know if it were under skills or under Q&A but here is why I am torn..

WIZARD/CLERIC
Good part- Healing, cancels de-buffs,res (wait is that it) um yes
Bad part- Blessing get canceled out when you change weapons so that's down the shoot...
WIZARD/BARD
Good part- Noise, less mana usage, moving march, and that's it I guess unless I might get 1 or 2 of the bard attacks for the fun of it...
Bad part- No heal... otherwise its the perfect sub-class

The sp I am going to spend stays the same for wizard but....
Cleric- with blessings (if I suddenly went crazy and wanted them, plus this is with integrity and Grand reverse I do not know what they do because silk road won't let me see what it does..)
so the total is 1,728,219
This one is without blessing but with integrity and grand reverse--- 1,417,927 (that is a big difference)
This one is without all the crap... 1,358,312 and this is hat I consider what my cleric stats would have... (btw all maxed)

i can KS wiz/cleric when i go grind, i like ksing wiz/cleric it's fun, actually KS-ing is just fun overall unless your the one being Ks-ed

I can kill 2 giants with 1 zerk but not at the same time. Noise also prevents me from being attacked while I'm killing a giant.

Also yes, cleric may have Holy Spell, but for the most part, the only mobs that can Curse you or have weakening are the mobs in Jang cave ( 80-99 mobs ), being frozen, poisoned, stunned, or pooped on, you can use uni pills.

As for pvp, i really don't think wizard is any fun at pvp at all, yes you can 1 hit some peeps, but you can also die with 1 hit especially from higher level noob peeps who pvp and attack wizards cuz they are easy to kill. I hate higher level peeps that kill low levels in pvp, Farking looser noobs.

I really like wizard especially at partying, i don't die when i go to parties unless the party is a noob party, or the tanker is a noob, or some of the peeps in the party are botting, but, i usually figure that out before it's too late ( meaning i leave ).

if your a wiz/cleric, you will be attacked first if you are using Recovery Division, or doing group healing, etc. in a party and the only way to avoid being attacked first is if you have a good Eu tanker or moving away fast( BARD ). Also, if your part cleric, some parties would only want you to be cleric, but like i said, if your tanker is a dumb ass, you'll pretty much be attacked first.

imo go wizard/cleric..its better in the long run. I have a lvl 94 wiz/bard, have had a lvl 81 wiz/cleric also. The wiz/bard gives you a bit faster lvling but it's pretty much useless against giants (your lvl or higher) unless you have great robes. With recovery division running, and using bless for giants..you can grind at mobs your lvl and still be alive.

Wiz/cler: Pros: MUCH less deaths, more survivability
Cons: no speed buff, will either need to buy them or grind without them

Wiz/bard: Pros: Generally faster lvling but at mobs LOWER lvls than you >.<
Cons: Less survivability, even with noise and a wolf, you cannot tank a giant.

This. I gave up on my wizard/bard after a while. A wizard/cleric with typhoon is a very fast grinder anyway, even without noise.

any wizard that likes to solo is best to go with bard as sub class and only take swing march and noise...once cap is easy to dvl. since only 2 skills were only lvl.

over all, wizards are not a pvp build even if cleric sub. Chinese builds can tank ur bless spell and if you use LT while bless they will kill u

i mean IMO, wizs as powerful as they are, die way to often, and i just get frustrated and yell things at my dead character, its a mess, i stick with chinese, but if i had to choose id go wiz/bard, just cuz i hate going slow and being unwantedly attack isnt good for wizs, there 1 hit wonders, in both killing and being killed, mostly

and also those speed potion things, are expensive, so if your a low level wiz/cleric with no one to plvl you, or you don't buy gold or what not, or a new server, you will end up being slow and Ksed by a wiz/bard, a Nuker, or Rogue/bard.

A chinese character would be my 4th choice if my other 3 chars that I am thinking about I just don't like and even then I can't decide which chinese char I would be..

Hearing that makes me feel better about bosses and I guess noise is better until I use one of my aoes on the giant....

The only thing that is holding me back from wiz/bard is no healing I'd have to buy potions and that sucks for euros of course...

What I just found out today about the bards is that when you change weapons the tambours go away so that completly upsets me... I just might go cleric... What lvl would I find out bard isnt the right subclass for me?

the only skill that stays with you for bard buff when you switch back to wizard is noise/moving march.

All other bard skills buffs go away.

But I like mana cycle... And idk if I would always be partying... Like I don't want to have to be in a party all the time if I'm wiz/cleric. To me that is just boring I hate it when people get so angry about dropped items... If I do go wiz/bard would I truly be a soloist the whole time? And if I went wiz/cleric would I have to be in a party most of the time?

i don't get that preference about cleric or bard, there's usually other wizards who are part cleric. When i pt, it's always, speed please, speed, and even Chinese players ask for it, which I find really irritating, cuz most already have grass walk.

You can't get the 2nd book without the first book (i.e. ground rave without ground charge and chain lightning without lightning bolt). Also, if you're going to solo you might not need the aoe spells because they would just defeat the purpose of noise. Would be useful if you are in a party though.

Also, imo there is no point in maxing crystal invisible because the time you stay in invi stays the same (I think??), and everybody has it pk2 edited anyway. You're better off getting just level 1 invisible then level 1 crystal invisible for fun.

Hmm didn't know hat thank you for telling me. ^^ ( on the ground rave and lightning) I wonder why the wizard guides say don't get it then???

On the aoe part not if you 1 hit them it doesn't...

And I guess that would save me some sp so I can just get away from danger if my speed goes away....

ps. I am not saying what my build is the best thing in the world but I think for a person that hasn't played a lick of this game yet and has only looked at guides posts and movies that its a pretty good 1st char build...

edit : Either there is something wrong with the sp calculator or does it really take 156,758 to get 1 lvl on crystal invis? If so I'm going to say screw it some other wizard can get it...

On the flip side, I play a Level 92 Wizard/Cleric, full farmed to 84 right now, on a 8 gap to be full farmed to 100. I personally wear Light Armor instead of robes and have a decent 9th degree set, and I do just fine in PvP against characters around my level. What saves me a lot is the Cleric passives: Glory Armor and Favor armor. They add so much benefits for my character when I switch to my cleric rod and shield when I need to. Its like an extra bless spell, plus my heals and buffs are that much more powerful, which keeps my HP up long enough to take down a particularly strong opponent who just refuses to die -- and when I party as a Cleric at Mobs Lv 99, my buffs and heals are just as good as a 90+ FF Cleric in robes. I don't have much PvP vids of myself, besides that little clip in my Corruption Guild video. Clip starts at 5:12 in the video.

Just goes to show you that Wizards can PvP just as effectively as any other build and not like how many stereotypical noobs do; running to the safe zone when they die, then coming back out in Life Turnover.

Nice try but lame... no safe zone then LT? What did he do while he had no bless? Every pvp was with bless and even then he nearly died to a crit from archer. The glaiver sucked.. no fire wall and pilled fear but not combust. The wiz did not fight any bladers (or euros), who would probably have tanked bless by doing kd's. I'm not trying to trash wizards (I have an 88 wiz/cleric that I was fiercely proud of and I never did the safe zone thing), but I have to admit that at cap they can't pvp well even if they are very skilled.

Now, if he did a video without using bless for every pvp and still won often, then I'd be impressed.

I like this forums its exciting...

But other than that cleric buffs or no cleric buffs your still gonna die so why not just go with the one with more kick?

I have another comment about this aoe theory of yours... If you do not successfully 1 ao hit them quickly switch to your bard weapon and use one of their insta cast (or almost insta) aoes to quickly finish he rest of them off. PROBLEM SOLVED!!

Wizard/Bard = You are a bit more solo than the other kind but you an still be in a party as the dd or the occasional buffer.

Wizard/Cleric = You enjoy parties and you wanna be able to buff others and be a more of party player.

Lol you could try that I guess, but that's a bit too much excitement for me

. Even on my wiz/cleric I used only fire bolt and frozen spear 95% of the time. They cast quickly and get the job done.

I'd say wiz/bard = nice speed and good soloer, but you have to be so careful around giants. Wiz/cleric = good soloer too, and with speed pots/scrolls better than wiz/bard. Both are useful in a party depending on whether your sub is FF.
