Extention Extractor..for PC games. (Mission accomplished)

So I really like the music for Prototype..and other stuff > > But it's in .cab form and the movies are in .rcf form. I've been looking for an extractor for .cab and .rcf but I either get a program the opens then closes right away or opens it and all I get is a file that looks like this "CBEF839A7816FF8FC85CED043B147179". I'm using AlphaZip atm but it only opens things as that long retarded file. I also have Pikmin 2 as an .iso but MagicIso won't let me open it to extract the music. I've been looking for the OST for that one for a few years.

So, can someone please point me to a program that extracts these files properly?

not sure about .cab or .rcf, but I think you need to burn the iso to a disk then use that disk to install it etcetc

might try to figure out the first two after medusa if I'm bored..

The iso is too big to burn. I should probably just try to find a different iso so I can extract it like for Prototype. Thanks for the reply.

WinRar does everything, I'd be surprised if it couldn't do this.

I've used it to extract music files like this before.

Winrar is extracting the .cab file as "CBEF839A7816FF8FC85CED043B147179" like the others. Thanks for the suggestion though >_<

well as far i remember, .cab is like a dvd extension.
try googling it and it might help something like
"extract *cab files"

btw, do Prototype has music? o_O

It's easier to rip the songs from youtube with a online youtube mp3 extracting tool.

There is this guy that uploaded the entire Prototype sountrack here:

Other soundtracks can most of the time be found somewhere online (mostly youtube) aswell, even when you look for the more obscure soundtracks there is often some guy somewhere that has uploaded it.

Thanks, I was hoping for the voice files and cg movies as well though >_<

Nothing really to show, I use Winrar to extract the Art.cab file and all it extracts is "_6D1B705C2427155B02ED4487E15039BB". This file has no extension or anything.

Also, i just have like 1 file on Art folder and 2 on Audio folder. :S

Yes double later post.

So my brother gives me this link, I install it and try to open .cab, .rcf and .p3d. This program which says it opens these says "Incompatible formats found". I think I have the PC ver of Protoype, should I try an xbox ver.? (That I can't find a link for)

install poweriso or isobuster. Google em, they always do the trick. No need to burn those damn iso's just extract em with one of these 2 tools and install it.

If you don't have any CD's just use Daemon's tool on the .ISO's

We had to use a special program made by some coders. Activision had it's own compressor/compiler. It was difficult to get them. I tried Daemon tools, Magic iso and all that in the beginning ;d lol
