Robe vs Heavy Armor; The true difference.

Post by zShared »

I was bored.
This ones for all the warriors out there in robes, is it worth it to make a Heavy armor set too?
Would be nice if someone could check for any mistakes.
Spoiler!

Last cap I didn't have a heavy armor set, didn't have much of a problem with STRs either. This cap.. with the new chinese skills, magic pop cock etc. I think I'll be making a heavy armor set.

Opinions, flames, and general spam, go.

Nicecomparison, ty for your advice about making heavy armor set this cap, however if i may ask, wouldnt it be efficient having a Light Armor set to tank both sides of the mix?, would it be worse beacause in the end u wouldnt tank either of damages? thats my big dilemma... :?

Well, what's the point? :?
Wasn't that obvious?

The cons of wearing a h. Armor is: low speed, short mp and weak aginst magic.

What im mean is Robes are good for pvp, while h armor is for pve.

numbers seem about right

but if you look at the mag def as well, you have about 600 more mag in robes than you do heavy armor

and considering warriors have harder time against ints than str, protecting against mag is better
Chinese str are more tankable than ints... though ints can be 1 hit with crit, a s/s nuker is still hard to kill while galive/blade has harder time hitting as high of damage that pots/cleric skills cant cover

also on euro side, wiz are easy to kill if oyu can live long enough to get to them so robes help, same with warlocks
only other str euros are rogues and other warriors, rogues with buff on are easy to kill, without it on then they can't do enough damage
(note dual axes are stronger than daggers without dagger buff on, xbow skills hit slow enough for rapid damage)
and other warriors, and well, they have robes too -.- lol

warriors in LA are too vulnerable to either side, unless they have sun, imo.
I'm going to have a robe as my main set, and a heavy armor set to use in 1v1 pvp vs tough STR builds to increase the size of my e-peen.

Of course it was obvious that HA would have more physical defense than robes. The point, is that I wanted to know exactly how much more phy HA gives you.

No idea what you mean. I'm stupid because I didn't know that HA had exactly 387.518 more physical defense than robes? lulwut?

If you were calling me stupid because you thought I was saying robes might have more physical defense.. then fu.cking lol.

might as well throw in a question here.. With the robe 20% increase healing passive, does the extra healing power go away when you switch to a warrior weapon?
Like if you cast healing cycle on yourself, then switch to 1H sword.. does the 20% bonus go away? Or does it stay for the duration of the skill?

If you have a cleric sub, which i'm sure most warriors do, LA really makes you good tankers, you can easily tank the dmg dealt on you without bless and skins when u have a cleric rod out and healing yourself, assuming you max the passive def buffs for cleric ofc

Light armor is nice, but I would still give the edge to robe.
Robes give you the edge in MP consumption which is a huge benefit, in addition to an increase in healing power. There are 5 healing skills, 3 of which casts fairly quickly.

You gear doesn't help you if pot delay kills you. If you use Healing Cycle instead as a robe user you could literally spam all the healing skills during one pot interval.

I'd suggest you don't waste anything on HA as a War/Cleric... Because of the cleric passives, your only choice should be between LA and Robes. This goes for Warlock/Clerics too. LA for Grinding/Jobbing/Mass PvP. Robes for 1v1 PvP. Heavy Armor is purely aesthetic, that's all it's good for. :D

The healing increase you get from the robe passive will stay if you switch to a warrior weapon.

I would never wear HA. Its ugly , your slow , higher MP consumption and you dont have the cleric passive which is a huge benefit. If you want a higher phy defence get a LA set, Charity and the two passive armors if you wear a cleric rod is really nice. For me LA = bigger advantage for jobwar / guildwar and so on, Robe = better for 1on1 pvp, HA = ugly troll ? ^^

Anyway i would like to see you in HA, that would make me laugh :D

Armors of the European race are classified into Heavy Armor, Light Armor, and Robe, and those of the Chinese race are Mail, Safeguard, and Taoist Garb. Unlike the Chinese race, the European race does not have a set effect for their armor.

so no 20% less mana, also no 20 % more speed

incorrect, that is how it was SUPPOSED to be. but the isro community are a bunch of spoiled yuppies, so they made the mana and speed bonus apply.

OK so the cleric passive for LA is very cool but doesnt work when im cutting heads with my 2hsword, in the other hand the healing effect from robes does stay if you switch to ur warrior weapon.... hmmm so undecided on either set... i think im gonna go with LA just coz im gonna keep my cleric at lvl 90 for sp issues... but in 9th degree im gonna try robes for sure :D

the reason garms had these bonuses is because they are supposed to be the "weaker" however because the majoraty of the online community are int users (for many reasons.... bots like getting cap quick.. easier with a int char) then they are atcually better at pvp. if it was a lot more even at higher level (str and int chars) more people would be protector... thats in pvp. in pve then garms all the way for speed thats al. :D
