very important question about phisical defence

My problem is that I don't know how damage reduction is calculated.

Lets say that a buff gives us 120 phys deffence points.
A glavier lvl100 FF attacks us with a Soul Spear truth.

How is reduction calculated?

1) 120 * 2.8 * 2 * 1.1 * 1.2
SST % glavie's masterety glavie's phisical ballance glavie's buffs

result : 887 damage reduction

OR

2) 120 * 2.8
SST %

result : 336 damage reduction




I think that the first one would be more logical, but it seems to me as the second one is the true . Ideas?
