Plants Vs Zombies (Review)

Post by Sacchin »

Just started playing this, it's really fun and addicting so I thought I'd write a relatively brief review! I'm sure alot of you have heard of this game and maybe even played it, but I'm still gonna write a review anyway so nya =p

Image

Story
Not much of a story really. Keep the zombies away from your house by setting up a platoon of plants and sunflowers to stop them from approaching or you lose (your brains). Throughout the game "Crazy Dave" will assist you with info and items you can purchase from his shop. The game has a general light hearted fun theme. No blood or gore.

General Gameplay
Plants Vs Zombies is a defense type game and somewhat a little strategic. In order to secure your safety you must plant sunflowers, peashooters, "wall-nuts" and a whole bunch of other types of plants to keep the zombies from getting into your house and eating your brains. Sunflowers are a must as you cannot plant anything without their little sun balls they produce. You can get upgrades for certain plants as you progress and collect money.

The game may seem a bit easy at first but slowly gets a lil harder as you progress and as each wave of zombies moves in. You only have a certain amount of slots so you must choose which plants to use for each level wisely. Some zombies ride on vehicles and other crazy stuff so certain plants will be more effective then others. You can purchase additional slots with money. The game isn't ridiculously easy, nor hard. And even if you claim to be overly pro, it's still a fun game.

Each set of 10 levels brings you to a new area of your yard, from the front, to the backyard pool and night time. There are some plants you can and cannot use during day and night.

Controls
Basically point, click and drag. Pick what plants you want and place them on the lawn. Click on coins, sun balls etc to collect them. Zombies will eat away at the plants or wall-nuts you place until their head falls off (By way of plant attack). If you don't stop the zombies in time (After the last resort lawn mowers are used) they go in your house and the game is over.

Mini Games
This game comes with quite a few. As you progress in the normal "Adventure" you'll unlock these. Some of them are "Zombie bowling", "Wack-a-zombie" etc. Also very fun to play. There is also Survival Mode and Zen Garden.

Random Tidbits
 The full client size of the game (Full version, not demo), unzipped is 116MB.
 There is no online gameplay available.
 My review was based on the full client version.
 It's a quick game you can open and play or close anytime and no lag.
 Good graphics, good music.

Kinda, theres no a set track where they just pass by, you gotta keep them from getting to the house. You start with sunflowers to produce more sun power, or money, then you can buy things like pea shooter turret type things, or Wall-Nut shield things to stop them while they get shot, but theres a lot more plants to use ;d.

my friend ask me to try this at like 1am in the morning, so I was like meh... it wouldn't hurt to just try I guess... then.... 4 hours later I'm still playing this game and its almost time for school :( anyways I was dead tired the next day

this game is pretty fun, pretty creative in terms of stepping out of the normal Tower defense :) I give it a 9/10

Definitely an interesting style. Know my friend got it and his kids love it too. So seems to be friendly to all.
