Light Armor or Robe set for Wizard+Cleric

Post by vajayjay »

Just out of curiosity, what would you guys recommend? I usually play both wizard or cleric in parties, depending on the need. I have all the passives, the Faith passive for Robes and the Charity, Glory and Favor Armor passives too for light armor.

Light armor is better if you fight agains monsters who do phy attack
robe for mobs with mag attack

i prefer robe for faster walking, looks better , 20% mp use down so it helps alot ;d
and as a cleric you have recovery division and bless spells so you wont die from pt mobs and giants so i vote for robe

Then again though, I did the math with a simple 9th degree NPC set of both Robes and Light armor, and with the L.A passives of cleric rod + shield + body and soul diety, I get about the same defense as if I had Bless Spell on. In effect, a constant bless spell... now if that effect just stayed when I switched back to staff...

With Robes, its more magical defense, the 20% speed and the decreased MP consumption... with Light Armor, its being a practical tank while carrying your cleric rod and shield, plus the STR and INT increase if you get buffed by another cleric.

And finally, theres the looks...

Stick with robes, and when your max cap then perhaps get a LA set as well. Due to the fact you party to level up, then id suggest robes as its not like your going to get most of the damage as it is the role of warrior to tank i think it would be wiser to save 20% mp and have 20% faster move speed.

I had LA on my wiz/cleric but it never felt like I had constant bless :?. When I used to play I hung out at DW south a lot with a +5 shield + self buffs + passives all the time and still got hit a LOT. For example, I was once 1 nuked by hybrid nuker ~2 levels higher.. not sure if he had premium, but I had a +4/+5 FB set, no premium or devil grade. For your reference this is my char http://www.rev6.com/player.asp?id=217713.

That being said I still recommend LA over robes if you are getting the defense passives. Charity makes your str/int buffs a lot stronger. Why are people saying robes give 20% more speed and mp? It's only 10% more than LA, since LA gives 10% as well.

I personally like LA for a wiz/cleric better then robe.

This is of course if increased mp usage won't be a problem for you. If you've got a bard with you or vigors and what not.

Otherwise go robe.
