Re: Upgrading graphics card
Your motherboard has one PCI-E slot free according to what I found out, so if the graphics card is not for PCI 2.0 it should 'work'.
Why 'work'? Well, among other things your PSU will be an extreme bottleneck. Your processor will be a bottleneck and so will your motherboard. You can't 'carry' a system on just a good graphics card. Then there's also the infamous compaq way of building pcs where it's hard to put new stuff in it or replace stuff (such as the PSU, don't be surprised when you find out there's retarded specific openings for the mobo/psu).
I'm sorry to say so, but you should have invested the money in separate parts and build it yourself. You really do get what you pay for, and in this case it's not much.
Often these PCs are a bitch to upgrade.

Because it's a compaq. You need to upgrade your mouse module. They sell modules that fit into a PCI-Slot, but I think compaq has them integrated into the motherboard.
Please don't double post.

Your mouse is slow because compaq's do not come with the necessary software to operate a mouse. You need to buy a mouse module, it plugs into one of your PCI slots.

It can handle it, but it needs a mouse module in order to operate at full speeds.

Re: Upgrading graphics card
Always read the reviews on the product you buy.(I'm ganna say product in general rather than computer) And ask for people's advice/help when buying something as well. Luckily I did that or else I'd be trying to run 300W+ with a 300W PSU.
