Lol back in the day I really wanted some sweet armor in Guild Wars so I bought gold from a gold company, and because the Guild Wars people know what they are doing my account got suspended for 72 hours and the gold removed from my account since it violated their ToS. However, that was after I managed to spend half of it on my gear, which they didn't take away :)

I couldn't figure out how they knew I bought it, so my only guess is that they track any large gold exchanges and look at any chat that went on leading up to it, which if you read my whispers to the companies char in game it was pretty obvious.

Why doesn't Joymax wake up and get some people who know what their doing.

The sad part is...alot of people think that Rev6 and 0x33 have "good communities" when they are the ones who started killing this game.

isrobot and whatever ones didn't hardly hurt the game, why? Because it cost you money out the ass, nobody wanted to pay like $40 a month just to bot and then another $50 on silk.

That = truth
though what does it matter what we think being old crochety legits. We are not cool like all the bot communities lol. Still I gotta agree with ya. It still surprises me how blind people are.

Simple. Joymax loves the lill slice of hell they have set up and don't want to rock the boat. They know that if they after all this time were to actually start enforcing rules short term income would flat line and crash. And it would likely not recover till after they are ready to EOL the game. ATM they are trying to keep the house of cards standing long enough to get the next game out the door.

Monster & Me is the crown jewel of botting in a mmorpg :)
don't know if the bot problem is still alive, but back in 2004-2005 the game used to be 100% botters. there were bots to do alchemy, to lvl, do quests, to teleport from town to town, and many other things. every single person i met in there used the bot, including me :) why? because there were no rules against botting, GM's didn't ban botters.
you could multiclient and bot on each account, leave them running and the bot would basically do everything. you could speed up the game. move to new places once you reached a certain lvl, buy pots, equip items, do alchemy, lvl your pet, distribute stat points, etc etc. you leave it running for days without even checking! it was an AFK game.
the GM's would login and do nothing.
there used to be guides on how to setup/use the bots on their official forum!

If that were true for WoW, I'd be banned right now. Someone randomly gave me 190 Gold for no reason at all.

I had to change the old girl.

190 gold is not all that much. Well maybe it is for you weak alliance dogs but I blew through that almost 8x last week alone. Nearly 600 gold for journeyman riding and new mount. Got a good deal on a blue stave my level at 100 gold. Even finding green in ah is semi rare right now. Nother 200+ on other gear. 250 on mats to train job up. 80 to buy another factions epic mount. Another 50+ on skills. Misc other expendatures. And I have 250+ left atm. If I got gold off other char it would be closer to 500 and that is still not much lol.

190 is nothing tbh. I transfer 1000's a month between chars and ive only ever been questioned about it once, and that time was when i transfered a large amount from one account to another, and i had to submit proof i owned both accounts to Blizzard. Other than that, nothing has happened.

Oh yeah old girl ftw dude, tbh.

ugh, umh, goldbots are run by the gold companies. before **** illegal third party program #2 servers were always crowded. people don't use **** illegal third party program #1 which has been around even longer becuase you have to pay for credits, 100 at a time and 1 credit = 2 hours. so 10 goldbots at 1 credit is 10 hours of goldbotting, so they're not gonna make any money. illegal third party program #2 only allows 15 goldbots, but these have to be manually logged in to a crowded server, so its not gonna happen. goldbots run by the goldcompany have ****-******* which allows them to log in automatically. so basically press start and it does everything itself.

Also, if you've noticed, which I'm sure none of you have, the price that it costs to buy gold has GREATLY decreased in the amount of time that the server has been around. At first, 300 mil used to be around $100. now for $100 you can buy 1000mil gold. yeah, 1 bil for $100. beats buying silk no? but, why are prices decreasing? sure, the goldbot companies have had time to stockpile more gold but what is causing them to drop their prices and make less money? oh wait, its the player bots who are able to log in their golbots to make their own gold. Those that are dedicated to buying gold figure its more reasonable to spend $7 a month on illegal third party program #2 than spend $100.

So, theoretically speaking, you could say that the player bots are going to eventually wash out the gold bot companies. Sure, there will always be people who need to buy gold, but most of them will be able to use their illegal third party programs to bot their characters.

Thanks for reading. No, I don't bot or buy gold. The reason I know all this is due to research. For you to be able to have a problem with something, I believe you have to come to fully understand, basically think the way they think. This let's you see the problem from their side and maybe take it out from the inside. I know this was long, don't comment on my spelling, I don't capitalize I know, but I don't care.

If you took the time to read this, you'd understand the gold bot problem. But most of you are lazy and simply look for an easy solution to something or just want someone to blame.

I didn't read it all, online the last part, but I'm sure you make a good point, even though this thread has become derailed to the poitn where we are talking nothing conering OT, just about the problems on SRO itself.

Anyway, it's no one's fault, at least we're having a good early winter banter that brightens my heart and makes me believe in the power of hope and love.

I have the balls to say something over the internet, go fuck yourself.

I might not always agree with Silo, but he contributes, often with contructive posts, maybe even as articulate as your one.

Have some respect, if he annoys you, ignore him.

I will amdit my first statement was a bit rough, but I'm just saying it doesn't take much to say something over the interwebz.

Silkroad died. Not possible to reach lvl100 FUFA as a legit.
On rev6 the highest char in Avalon is lvl96-> Fly . Bots are already lvl100.
Even if they survive... at cap110 Avalon will fail . And with their fall the last fortress of legits (Venus) will die too. Not a nice future :banghead:

The two best caps I think were :

60 -> easy to reach for anyone.

80 -> europe -> party play came. Legits got another chance.

Now you cannot find a damn party under lvl80 :banghead:

edit : I cannot understand people. Grinding is hard? Yes, it is made hard to not make eveyone max level. If someone want to be really strong, he have to spend a lot of time, yes. Have you ever seen Runescape? You cannot bot there, and takes damn a lot of time to get things to lvl99. But after that... you will be respected, and will have power.
If there would be no bots here, then a high level would be respected for his hard work on his char, and it would be possible to have fun as a lower level (or low level) .

the name of the game is Silkroad... they like to talk about their historical connections well what was the real Silkroad but a trade route with the purpose of commerce, so people could travel back and forth on it all day long , delivering the goods, than doing the same thing all over again and again and again so someone out there can make a lot of money...so the purpose all along is just to make profit of the same boring task. I always found the name of the game very fitting to what it is like

It's hilarious there's still ppl who don't know how rev6 actually works. It can see player's level not because it sees his level but because he sees his gear and skills used. Fly could be any level above than 96 but doesn't have gear or skill > lv96

Point of clarrification it can see lvl but only of the guild or party it is in. Which lends creedence to the notion that fly does not pty with bots or at least ones who use it and neither does avalon have botters or ones that use it.

What 100FF legit is impossible?

_Gator is FF'd for 100 and he's 97.
_Ace_ is 97 (idk how farmed)
MindMaker is 97 (idk farmed)
Kharra is FF'd for 100, just finished.

Botters getting capped first is hardly a problem in Venus. They can get to 100 first if they want to but their asses still get handed to them by non-capped legits.

At the end of the day the botting problem in SRO is no better or worse of then its
been since i started playing (when bable opened) and i left (when euro opened).

Token bans every few months may keep some happy but compared to most games it is
a disgrace.
And i have to agree with some of the above posts, botting your way to lvl 100 and
you achieve nothing at all, you will find the game boring, mundae and have
nothing to do because you did experience the game at a slower place as the rest
of those who played "legit" did.

But saying that given how hard it is to lvl up and the amount of money spent
buy people who bot am not shocked at all and either should anyone else be that
JM do not really care about this problem.

I havnt seen a bot since I started playing WoW, so some years now.

I've been told there out there, but never personally seen one. If I did, theres a "?" icon on the interface, and you can fill out a petition to a GM. They usually get back to you in under half an hour unless its patch day or something really crazy.

Bots are insta-ban, if you filled a petition they'll go there and inspect the person. The entire situation is very rare, because game warden actually does its job, unlike game guard ever did.

You can fill a GM ticket for a wide variety of things; ingame bugs, stuck character, items not working properly, looting mistake, harassment, player behavior etc.

Then someone reported him at 67.

^^

Thats kinda pointless too though. You can get to 70 in a few weeks. Its not a 2-3 month daily grind to level in this game

imo!

A friend botted 0->70 in WoW. He just botted in the spots where no one would ever go to. I think he did 3 characters if I remember correctly then soon after sold them. He just wanted to see if he could really do it and well.. he did.
