So far all we've seen from Mike Newell's upcoming Prince of Persia movie are a few leaked pictures (both of the set and mantastic variety), but now an ABC movie special (via /Film) has finally given the world its first look at actual footage from the flick (which, in accordance with these modern times, can already be seen in the YouTube video above).
The few sequences from the film show Jake Gyllenhaal's title character, Dastan, fighting off armed men amongst various rowdy mobs, riding a horse with Princess Tamina (played by Gemma Arterton), and standing majestically on a cliff. The clip also features a short interview with producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who reveals a little of the story's setup -- and how it will differ drastically from the The Sands of Time videogame, primarily in that Dastan doesn't actually begin the film as a prince. "Dastan is our hero. He's a street urchin who gets taken in by the king because of his valor, and he says, 'I want this young man as part of my family,'" Bruckheimer explains. "He's already got two sons, but he doesn't want them fighting over the crown."
