Do you have to press the buttons in the order it says?

For example:

How to execute: (1) Use any club except for a putter.
(2) You must use a powershot enable to accomplish this shot.
(3) Your chosen distance must be at or higher than the 8th notch (80%).
(4) When the bar goes back down past the 5th notch (50%), tap up and down. Tap up, then down, or just up and down in any order?

@ joey, and i guess for the rest. I made this quick video about toma, spike and cobra shots.

Cobra and spike only work with 1w, 2w, and 3w. As for Tomahawk, it works with all the clubs, except for putting's of course.
NOTE: a powershot is needed.
