predictions of Nostradamus and Armageddon

Post by .Banshee »

Lately I've been watching the History's channel countdown to Armageddon and what not, even though they gave me a deep scare I'm not convinced. Though the part that scares me the most are the predictions of the French astronomer/doctor/prophet Nostradamus. They are just so accurate. I mean in a way he predicted the rise of Hitler, the destruction of the two towers in "New City", the war in the middle east and so many other accurate predictions. Then what's scary he goes on to predict the ending of the world. What do you guys think, and please don't come in here with stupid remarks and the calling of people stupid without a good argument :banghead:

are you talking about that 2012 crap? imo, all the predictions from all these people (including Mayans) all say that the world ends at relatively the same time, but from what i've heard they used stars to make there predictions and the day they say is the end of the world is space related if i'm not mistaken so i thing they could only see so far.

One of Nostradamus?most remarkable series of quatrains, with the name Hitler given in anagram as Hister. There can be little doubt that Hitler is implied; who else could be so well described by the last line, the German who observed no law? In 16th-Century handwriting the resemblance is even closer with the use of the long s, Hifter. Commentators before 1930 understood the Hister to be the river Danube, from its latin name Ister. But Hitler recognized himself in these quatrains by the mid 1930s and Goebbells made great propaganda out of them in the pre-war party years. Evidence of this is found in many sources, chiefly Ellic Howe抯 book 慛ostradamus and the Nazis? During the first year of the Second World War the development of the war was to a great extent dependent upon the rivers crossed by the Germans who came into Europe in a never-ending stream looting and pillaging (farouches de faim) (PON, p. 82).
Notice: it is admitted that before 1930 it was understood that Hister (not Hitler) was the subject of the quatrain!

Supposedly Hitler thought it was meant to be him so he took it upn himself to make it come true.

Nostradamus also got a lot of things wrong. People who have studied the mayans for 30+ years say that nothing will happen, everyone is taking it out of context.

Found a little article

Code: Select all

Of course, not only have the "experts" on the prophets not always been correct - the seers themselves have not always been quite so accurate in their forecasts. Although people keep claiming that "it's the world will end" they often ignore other prophecies he wrote. Nostradamus NEVER said the world would end in 1666, 1999, 2012, 2096, or any of those years. In fact, he was quite clear we would survive through all of these other conflicts, and if we took it upon ourselves, we could change / prevent what was indeed going to happen.

Time will tell if the Iraq conflict or, indeed, the World Trade Center attack had put the spark to a bigger barrel. As for the end of the world... Nostradamus predicted it to be the year 3786 or 3797, depending on which Nostradamus expert you believe.

No I'm not talking about the Mayans. I'm talking about the accuracy of Nostradamus and his predictions. It has nothing to do with 2012 because Nostradamus didn't pinpoint an exact year. And just because Mayans and other ancient empires lived a long time ago doesn't mean that their knowledge is obsolete.

@Brago LOL you think that Hitler just decided to do become a dictator, spark WWI, kill countless millions just because some long dead prophet said something about Hister of Germany. That's rich.

Thats the most annoying thing, they keep running those shows to scare people, to make people worry about it. Its sad really, feel sorry for the ones that actually believe it. They always put so much fear into these things. Doubt it will happen, we could die tomorrow by a nuclear war, we cant do shit about it so dont worry. If its coming its coming, and if you believe something with that high of power then you know your powerless against it, nothing you do can change it. SO do whatever

His prophecies were nowhere near accurate. They were actually really vague. People see some major event occur and see if it sounds like anything the guy wrote. The public will basically paint the target around the arrow.

The "thing" with 2012 is that on the winter solstice (Dec 21) in 2012 the current "Long Count" will be over. The "Long Count" is what the Mayans called the 5,125 year cycle of the galaxy. The reason people are freaking is on this particular solstice and at the end of this "Long Count" cycle the the sun will align with the Earth and the black hole at the center of the Milky Way. This event only happens once every 26,000 years. Some theorists have predicted that this will have an effect on the Earth such as a polarity shift and most support it, but nobody knows if the shift will happen all at once and make everything go haywire or happen over several hundred years or even happen at all.

Something else that supports all the people supporting the world is ending in 2012 is the solar storm predicted to max that year.

Dikpati's forecast puts Solar Max at 2012.

Solar Storm on NASA.gov

I personally believe the world ending is complete bullshit, but something will happen that day. It will become winter.

Bullshit :banghead:

The mayan calender has been explained over and over again. Fear just makes good media.

What I think is that the mayans got bored of counting years ahead and decided 2012 was a nice looking number to stop at :P

And yeah, Mayans weren't primitive at all, europeans were.

ok the Mayans talked about stars and shit the planets at most will Aline thats all polar shift would just mean every electric device wont work for at tops a month. big woop all your date will be erased well you know what make sure you have enough cash under your bed before this happens lol. end of the world my ass people who say its gana be the end of the world are stupid because lets see people said the world was gana end hmmm lets count down from 2012. 2012 2010 (heard from some) 2008 (oh no we didnt die!) 2006 2004 2002 2000 1999 1996 1986 (big gap because i dont know any in the middle) so aperantly we have died ummm 8 times already o.0 btw anyone notice the pattern? only reason why most of the stuff does come true is because people read it then freak out and MAKE it come true.

sources are from what iv heard in my area so dont say im wrong because i have heard all those years being "dooms day"

thats strange, every time you look at your watch, check what the date is, celebrate new years, relate yourself to specific star signs for the time of your birth,
lets say these things you depend on everyday of your life, comes from what the primitive mayans said thousands of years ago,

or you dont beleive in time, in seasons, in months, in years, in astrology?

well true, no one invented astrology, everyone was interested in the stars,
The Toltecs used astranomy to create the calander, isnt the creation of the calander the creation of time?

anyway ot. i loved that signuature you had before this one, this ones pretty awsome, i guess i just hoped you would never change it lol.

Yeah. But then it will be to late. Shit would already have hit the fan. Causing things to be mobilized all over the world. It's like a chain reaction. And quite frankly, I wouldn't feel happy knowing we could meet our armageddon. .
