I'm not really scared, its more of the games like FEAR with crazy popups and stuff that get me freaked out. I could never play those games in the dark, unless im with someone else. Theres just this thing about having someone else with you that makes you grow steel balls to play games your most scared of. Zombie games are one of my favorite genres now Ghosts freak me out though..
So true, when I played RE4 with my brother next to me it was ok, kind of creepy, but ok, then when he left I was playing it by myself and the suspense + the crazy mexican voices screaming "Forastero!! Te voy a matar" or whatever, just made me uninstall it ASAP.
their spanish not mexican
Shame on me!
And Dumbo, Nazi Zombies scary? I always play it before going to sleep all by myself in my room with lights off, I don't find it scary.. Well it may be scary if you play it on solo, but having other 3 players running around removes all the fear and suspense.

Not really scary. Just nicely creepy which gives it nice feeling when playing.
The first time I played half life 2 in ravenholm I was freaked out by all the screaming skinless zombies..and doom 3 scared me quite a bit as well..
But I got to say FEAR 2 did anything but give me Fear, I played through over half the game and where were the Farking monsters at? I saw one monster the whole game, a bunch of soldiers, the bony ghost lady (which wasn't really scary just annoying) and the robot thing...I mean shit I didn't even feel like playing cuz nothing was scary it was gay.
My experience with the RE series is limited. Back in like...4th grade I had a PS1 and I thought it would be cool to get this awesome Resident Evil game. Threw it in, played a bit, walked around some. Then I turned a corner and some creepy monster zombie thing jumped from the roof and ate me and I screamed and yelled and the game was gone the next day.
As for now...FEAR for PC does it for me. Alone in the dark, headset on. Ech. The chillsssss run down my spine thinking about it. The part in FEAR where you walk up a ladder and as soon as you can see over it, the girl is there. I cry still.

Same with me, just with Dead Space lol. Everyone in the town says it's the scariest game ever, while there were just a few points where you get somewhat scared. Trick is, always watch your back as they grab you from behind all the time. I started Cryostasis a few days ago, and to me it has everything a horror game needs. Game seems fresh.
I got scared playing a game the other day, only it wasnt a horror game...it was Perfect World
I had just killed a boss for a guildy when it respawned right away in front of me, and because i was zoomed right in and had on headset (speaking on vent). i suddenly saw this deformed monster face fill my screen and it was growling...i scream and throw off my headset.
Yeah but I only played Quake 4 and I got startled there. When I played L4D, i thought i was gonna get scared and i did but then i got used to the whole "boo" thing.
Doom 3 was annoying, since you can't hold a flashlight and a gun at the same time. RE games didn't really come as scary for me, then there's Dead Space which is abit more of a "creepy" game than "scary". The only game I that I get chickened out and immediately quit when I sense something is about to happen is the F.E.A.R. series.
