Well yes i would, i wouldn't be dependent on ammunition for a gun which id have
to acquire in the first place, or slowed down by armor and padding which wont help
anyway, and a knife is a weapon i can use again and again and again.

this would go for anyone with a melee weapon...but especially for a knife

how long do you think you'd last with a knife? the closer they get to you, the higher risk you run of getting killed by them.

you want them as far away as possible

I mean cmon, the only way you'd possibly have a chance is if its the slow zombies, and even then its to risky to use a kitchen knife fighting them off, i'd even rather have an out of ammo assault rifle then a knife. If a zombie comes at you and like lunges, you have 1 shot to stab it in the right spot, and while your knife is in that zombie how do you stop another, not to mention the zombie is now on you or at you grabbing at you. You can't exactly get them before they get close enough, and now your on foot so you can't really get away that fast lol.

If they were the faster Zombies like 28 Days Later/L4D/Quarantine your even more screwed lol.

no offence but people dont get the point, its about SURVIVING, you lot
all going on about guns and machine guns...and your going to get ammunition
how when you run out?

with a knife all i have to do is keep on moving and only defend myself
when i have to, while with ANY automatic weapon your going to waste bullets,
run out of bullets and have you ever even tried to fire a weapon at distance
at someones head? do you know how hard it is?
I mean most soldiers would find it hard as they are taught to kill a person
main for the chest (largest part of the body with most vunerable organs)

So yes mock my choice of weapon, because of COURSE with your automatic gun
you can have every shot count and have an endless supply of ammunition.

Best way to survive an Zombie attack is EVER get into one, guns are loud, noisy
and unless you used one before extremely unaccountable due to bad aim of novie
and first time users. All you will do is waste a lot of ammunition attracking
more zombies and end up dying, where as with a knife all you have to do is
only worry about any of them that get up to you. And then its a simple stab
through the eye or ear.

Well surviving is something your gonna have a hard time doing with a knife lol. Just like fuel, it's not like its all gonna disapear somehow after, there's no doubt you'd be able to find guns and ammo easily.

How can you think it'd be hard to shoot a zombie but easy to wait for a zombie to get upto you then stab it without getting bit or scratched lol.

I'm not mocking i'm just trying point out how wrong it is "the best way to survive". It's the same with a gun though, you don't automatically have to shoot them unless they are close, but not as close as an armslength >.>. All you'd do is waste energy and risk yourself using a knife ;d.

People complaining about ammunition have no idea how easy it is to get.

Realistically I wouldn't even leave my house in the event of zombies. I'd get on the roof of my house with my Vz.24 Mauser and shoot anything that comes within a mile of me. Noise? No problem. Surviving? No problem. Ammo? No problem. I've got a tin of surplus ammunition with 1000 rounds in it. And I can always get more. Hitting things in the head is easy, especially with a large rifle + scope. If you think it isn't you've never used a gun before. They teach soldiers to shoot for the chest because it's the easiest mass to hit in a short amount of time. From my roof I'll have all the time I need.

You guys with knives and garbage melee weapons are putting yourself at risk just by having to be in close range to even defend yourself. You think a zombie is gonna care if you stab its eyes out? There's this thing called a skull you have to stab through to get to the brain. Have fun with that.

Cause zombies have eyes and ears that are perfectly healthy and intact? How is a knife going to help you if a horde of like 50 zombies come at you? A knife is close range, do you wanna be that close to a zombie? >.> Do you think they'd be all "Ow...that really hurt man..=( *Walks away*". If anything you'd have to sever their heads at the neck at least. Have you ever played Resident Evil 2? A knife would be about as useful as that and even then you couldn't kill even one. You'd have a better chance of surviving if you shouted profanity at them rather then a knife xD
