Re: Going to Berlin for 4 days.
I just went there a week ago.
We had an extremely busy program so we have basically seen everything. We went to some old zeppelin hangar where they have a pool now, which was a lot of fun. I don't really think you could make it on your own though, it was a planned part of our trip.
Myself, I'm a sucker for Greek mythology and ancient history so I really loved going to the
Pergamon museum. So if you can appreciate that I can strongly recommend going there.
I hope, but don't think, your school will take a look at some different stuff than the fall of the wall and concentration camps. Surely there has to be more to Berlin. All we did was see things related to either the DDR, the wall or Holocaust.
Berlin is very cheap (complete meals for 7 euros, including drinks) so that's nice.
Anyways, there weren't really 'fun' things to see. Almost every important thing to see has something to do with the prosecution of the jews.
The "Jüdisches Museum" has some very nice architecture but it's not pleasant to walk around in. Every thing (typically Jewish tbh) has a double meaning and some of them are really far fetched. I guess that's also why you have to have a tourguide for that museum. A lot of things would go unnoticed without a guide.
I hope you get some spare time so you can do what you please to, I got really tired of having to walk every day from 8am-11pm with only 30-45 min to get something to eat as 'break'.

Re: Going to Berlin for 4 days.
just got back and it was really cool. Im am definitely going back there sometime.
We have seen most of the highlights etc. It really cheap, half a litre of beer costs like 1~2 euros, over here a small glass can cost up to 2 euros. So that was fun, we got pretty drunk on the way back home

Re: Going to Berlin for 4 days.
so you only went to the Holocaust Mahnmall and Sachsenhausen or just didn't take pictures of all the highlights?
I didn't see the Arbeit Macht Frei at Sachsenhausen myself, I always thought it was Auschwitz only.
Did they tell you about the 'Schuhe testbahn' at sachsenhausen as well? Thought that was pretty die hard myself.
