I've got only 1 lip piercing, and I did it myself. So it's a bit odd.

I will get them [my ears] fixed by surgery later on in life. I realise that, but that didn't stop me. Nor will it stop me getting tattoo's.

Not only that they look stupid as all hell and dont actually do anything.. like most piercings really. If anything the only good piercings are lip piercings and tongue, at least they can be practical.

had my lip pierced and eyebrow pierced, then i grew up, realized how unoriginal they are, how stupid they are, how much bad stereotyping comes from it and how absolutely useless they are at doing anything. I soon got over them.

Theres a good reason we dont see many older people have piercings. If some immature 16 year old wants to screw their ears over with insanely big holes than so be it, have fun regretting it in 5 years time.

I'm cool and all with you putting piercings down, I mean you'd tried to like them but they didnt do it for you. That isnt your fault.
But come on man, be more open minded than that.
I definately dont get anything pierced for the feeling. I do it because I like the look.
It brings me back to my previous point that its all about opinion and perception of the whole thing.

They look itchy. Seriously...look how red they are around the outside. You rub up against more stuff than you realize, I bet those are a serious pain in the ass. I'm not anti piercing though, I had my nose, tongue and belly button done Those just don't look fun to me.

Lol there was a fight on my school where one girl ripped two piercings off the other. All you could see was she laying in that ambulance transportable bed crying and screaming like hell with lots of blood coming out of her nose and her ear.

Aye. I've seen a guy with piercings and earrings mouthing off to the wrong man once, next time I inquired about him, I heard he was lying in the hospital with 2 broken ribs, a broken nose, a broken leg and several bruises on his face. And the piercings and the earrings were punched off as well. I still see him sometimes, but you can notice he's got a scar on his lip. Ripped piercings never fully heal, that's why you can only wear them when you're lifestyle or job allows it. I always liked tattoo's better then piercings anyway. But you should try to respect another's decision I guess.

If people feel the need to decorate their body with pins and plugs, at least try to not make you're ears look like coat hangers
