i failed 8>9 on my sword. i would say the opposite is actually true.

Get yourself a back-up weapon first, so that IF you fail miserably and its broken, you still have something to farm gold with

IF (big if) the cap is raised your weapon will not be worth anything near what you've already invested into it, let alone what you are proposing to invest. I'd say no.

lol i was the first one to vote no XD but according ot cuchulaine the cap won't be raised after severl other updates +9 it if you really want to be considered legendary on the server, but i don't think you'll get it. like ryoko said, only if it was easy to +5

All I'm going to say is, if you can afford the weapon elixirs, you can afford to make some STEADY STONES. And I hope whatever you're trying to +9 is also sos. Go for it, and good luck.

I say, go for it.. ifnot, then go back to +7... make sure you buy some jade stones so when they fail you can go for the enchantment right after they fail, that seems to increase your chances.. it did for me at least... oh and add a lucky stone or two
