Tips & Hints to become a successful alchemist.

Post by NuclearSilo »

First of all, if you believe that alchemy is a pure luck, there is a "back" button. There is no need to argue about it since no one can prove anything. This is just about belief.

Here are some tips and i'm sure it's gonna be useful to you.
#1: Alchemy is not about pure luck. If you start with this, you'll find for yourself a method to do alchemy and not just "put item, put elixir, put lucky powder, click fuse".

#2: For each alchemy, write down the evolution of the enchantment such as +?->+?, what kind of item, how lucky it is, what's the difference with the previous enchantment. Bit by bit, you'll acquire experience how to do a success alchemy.

#3: Time, delay are very important. Find a combination of delay between "put item" <-> "put elixir" <-> "put powder" <-> "click fuse", break time after each enchantment like break 20s before doing a +2, 30s +3, 50s +4, etc.. (this apply if you enchant the same item). Delays vary by type of items and degrees of items. I know this because i used to do 20 success times a row from +0->+3 when enchant my 6D gear. From that began the belief the existence of time. Also, do not share the combination to anyone coz it varies by character, and then they will call you liar.

#4: Always keep the lag the same rate if you want to use the same method. The delay between "click fuse" and "the moment the item flashes" is the result of the lag. You can always press ESC to cancel the enchant process if you did any mistake. But keep in mind that this lag is a graphic lag, it's not about server lag.

#5: Do not enchant high + item after you login, as the first item of the day, coz it's gonna fail, the chance of success is minimal. Not sure about teleporting but it's also a kind of changing channel, login.

#6: always close the alchemy windows each time after you finish to enchant one item. Don't try to fuse them in a row.

#7: "more success, more fail", "more fail, more success". Why is it? It's like the luck in sro is like a circle, when the runner pass by a luck partition, it's a success, if it doesn't, it's a fail. But you don't know when it begins or when it arrives. The only thing you know is that if the current enchant is fail, the next enchant has more success change (ie the runner is closer to the partition) and vice versa. Low + item goes fast and high + goes slow. Try to enchant items at the same speed to keep track of the runner.

#8: have the definition of "bait". Don't just enchant your precious items all the time, if you know the next has a high chance to be a fail, use a D1 as bait instead.

#9: no matter the situation, always use lucky powder

For poor players, using the method involves tip #3, with this method +4 or +5 is max coz after that it's gonna hard to keep track of the evolution of the luck.

For rich players, use the following "inevitable luck" method:
to +1: easy
to +2: small chance it will fail but still easy
to +3: the chance is 50%, have two +2 items, one of them will have the chance to go to +3, but make sure you enchant at the same speed and close the alchemy window everytime.
If you want to minimize the fail +0->+3, use the tip #3
to +4: have 5 items: +3 +3 +3 +3 +3 in the following order. The first 3 are baits, there is a small chance that the success falls to 4th item, but generally 5th and i'm sure you can't have more than 4 times fail +3 in a row.
to +5: similar to +4 but you need 5 items +4 this time. It's not hard to make a bait +4 with D1 NPC items since its luck is quite high.

And so on, to make a higher +, you need baits of this level minus 1 or any level but keep in mind that high+ runner goes slow, low+ runner goes fast. And don't expect one of 3 first baits will be a success. It's called "inevitable" because it's not possible to have X times fail in a row (where X is a number>0). It's probable, but not possible.

Sorry nuclearsilo but ITS PURE LUCK and how much gold you got to spend that in the end matters, everyone that done tons of alchemy knows that one day they will fail everything and another they can make +7 with just 7 elixirs on the most laggy spots ever.

If i remember it correctly one of the kuwaits made a 72+11 crossbow just with elixirs not even lucky powders used so its all luck.

i have been trying to figure out the "trick" but the only trick there seems to be you got to be lucky to have an easy to alchemy item or you must have a lot of gold to no matter what get it to the + you want.

Hmm thats one of my tricks for plusing :), I made 5 weapons +7 and 1 +8 this way. I relog and soon as I log in I press fuse.

I dont believe everything you said there, but i do find #3 works a lot for me. I do think its pure luck and certain items have more luck than others tbh.

i do believe this to some degreee. i can get pretty good at making +5, usually only takes me 15-20 elixirs if i get the feel of the weapon early enough. i strongly do believe that you cant just pop elixirs and lucky powders one after the other and expect anything other than luck. but adding a delay between fuses, usually around 5-15 seconds i would guess, seems to increase my chance greatly. but who knows, maybe thats just luck :?

it really seems like a poorly designed randomness equation...there have been times that i cant get a weapon to +4, than try a few days later and its +5 second try...or it takes me a ton of elixirs to make a set only +3, than a week later it takes me 6 elixirs to make the whole set +4, everything first try to +4 (that one is true, i was happy and pissed at the same time)

Useless thread, alchemy in SRO is bullshit and based purely on 2 things: Luck and How much gold you buy.

It's based on luck(%).
-Each item have its own luck.
-You can increase % of luck with stone of luck.
-You can increase % of luck with lucky powder.
-You can incease % of luck with premium/+.

-You can decrease luck if you lag(internet download/upload rate not graphics).

Good luckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

The trick for me is usually spamming the fuse button followed by cursing at the screen after failing +4 the 50th time.

Here's my way of successfully doing alchemy. Get 2 billion+/- gold. Grab a level 98 item with immortal. Put a weapon elixir and lucky powder on it until it runs out of immortal or it is +9. If it runs out, repeat with another 98 item. Rinse, repeat.

Its hard to find 98 weapons now, not even to mention with immortal. I try to find weapons with immortals but I usually try to plus all my drops at least weapons, during 90 cap i destroyed god knows how many weapons, but I earned much more, you would be surprised to see how many goes +5 +7 straight.

Well most is luck, but for sure its not all. I do a lot, a lot alchemy, and after spending so much time on it, you can see that some items arent meant for +++

This man speaks the truth. SRO came out and even says that items have individual luck (aka a probability how easy it is to plus). My advice is, if you go through a stack of 50-100 elixirs and don't hit +4, NPC the item.

Actually I dont believe it's all luck in terms of our luck, but rather
game luck. Game luck imo is based on some sort of equation that outputs a value and will ultimately determine your success.

How can i back this up? Well luck stones and premium and lucky powders are all supposed to add luck to the alchemy. If there was no equation what would it add to? As well premium increases it by a %, which would explain why so many people find that at times even with prem + everything fails since, if the equation gives them a low game luck value, that 10% is negligible, while for others may help them + everything.

However whether this calculated luck value will determine whether or not you succeed or just be turned into another % to see how likely you are to succeed can be debated.
Because even if you do discover all the factors some things can not be calculated or figured out such as character luck at the time which could play a large role.

One of the most significant ones I feel would be #3 based on personal experience.
Why?
Because my friend made a fortune off of buying and reselling sox items back when low level gear was still worth money. He basically had an sox set for each tier as well as sox bow or s/s or blade to go along with each tier.
What intrigued me was when he said that sox items are easier to enchant, and so he rarely worked on regular gear.

SO two things to consider are...
1) we all know that sox items are better in every aspect, and so perhaps is the base weapon luck.
2) he based when he added the item, the elixir, the lucky powder, and when he clicked fuse on the rotating stars in the picture of the item.

While he still didn't succeed 100% of the time, his success rate was high, so I think nuclear silo is on to something once again

As I sayed to you in other thread, EVRY item can go +5, just some need 1k elixirs and some need 5-20 elixirs. So do you really think is it worth being stuborn and spend 1 elixirs on non SUN item to make +5?

unless its got good stats/FB..

even if it has shitty stats... im not gonna buy the same item again which could cost me 30m+ just to try my luck on that item. id rather spend the 30m+ on trying to +5 the item i had at the start.
