I'm glad somebody took the time to make a video of what pretty much everyone was thinking while listening to that guy's senseless babbling.

If there is a god, it's incredibly selfish and narrow-minded to believe Earth is the sole planet with his gift of life in the universe. To extend that and say Earth is the only planet capable of sustaining life in the universe, or even the galaxy, is just moronic.

Did god create the universe for us to just stare at for millions of years? I don't think so. But, if you believe life does not exist beyond Earth, then why else would god have created it?

I guess you didn't get my point -_-. Even if they were to interview 100 creationists that's only a very small percent of them. It's like interviewing 500 stupid black people and saying all black people should be laughed at. Here is were your logic would fail, if you interviewed 500 stupid black ppl of no apperent interest to anyone no one would care, am I right? But if you interviewed like say Morgan Freeman and it turned out he was an idiot, or that Obama was an idiot or that Samuel Jackson was an idiot we would a group of people think twice whenever we look at "black people" But then again comparing a race of people to a theory that people believe in just doesn't feel the same.

Umm...again looks like you didn't watch the whole thing, he starts the series completely owning an idioit then goes onto people like Jonathan Wells who has 2 PhDs (both legits), Kent Hovind who came up with the "Hovind theory", Ken Ham...so he isn't just "interviewing random stupid people" Here is another example, if we interviewed a normal black guy and Obama, who's answers to the questions would you care about the most if they were to be asked the same questions wether it be about dogs or to the war in Iraq. Most of you would say Obama right? And why is that?

I just watched the entire series. Good shit John_Doe.

Personally I'm on the side of science, but I'm not about to say there was never a greater power. There are as he says unknowns in the universe, but just because it's unknown doesn't mean God did it. I'm basically in agreement with everything that can be physically proven and theorized with reasoning and science, yet I'm not uncomfortable saying that because we don't exactly know how the universe began, it is possible there was a power beyond our comprehension at one point that started everything. Science is our explanation for the universe as we currently know it.

If mankind manages to progress enough regardless of creationism slowing it down, maybe it will find the big answers in the future.

I'm not saying that all Christians or all Muslims think alike just because they belong in the same religion. However, I do have to point out that they do dip their fingers in the same bowl - that is their "holy book" whether it is the Bible, the Koran, or the Avesta. Being an atheist on the other hand simply means we don't believe in god - that we don't have a god. That means that no matter how delusional their thoughts or beliefs may be, as long as it doesn't involve (a) theistic god(s) or deity (deities) in any way, shape, or form, they are still atheists (or agnostic depending on their belief).

What god would create something that disproves his existence, his very method of creating the universe? A test of faith would not be saying one thing, then putting into existence things that contradict everything you previously said. The best example of this would be saying the earth is only 6000 years old, yet there are fossils which can be scientifically carbon dated to millions of years ago.

I listened to him and after his speach i asked for 5 minutes to say my opinion.

These kind of threads occur here on regular base so i just repeat myself.

We dont understand. It is simple as this.
What we dont understand we wont know. Understanding and describing god or anything what we could call as "creator" is destined to fail.
Even if we could see events clearly in space time and our mind would perceive things how they are in reality, we still could'nt understand creation or w/e believers say creation is.
The only way i can imagine here is to work hard, keep an open mind, learn from our mistakes and try to understand ourselfs and each other,
coz even this simple thing we can not do.
If you think a bit, you realize you live to fit in. You live to do what other people like. Our reality is based upon common beliefs and not facts. If you look at things closely, you realize you dont know them. Most of your sight or anything you perceive is made up by your mind, etc etc etc

Creationism and other beliefs what say "we are the cool ones" are nothing but deception and soil for arrogance and selfishness. A false hope for weak ppl who seek shelter from themselfs.

Well it certainly seems retarded, that "theres must be a maker because the chances are w/e", it's like they are thinking of earth before any life, and that this planet is supposed to get life and they are just simply waiting for it to happen, but the chances are so little that there must be a god to do it. But the chances aren't little, It's like throwing a marble in a desert or something, its obviously gonna land somewhere, so what makes the place it lands so special that it couldn't of been a coincidence. I guess you would have to beelive that in the vastness of the universe that there would be an enormous deserts worth of habitable planets though, and we just happen to be 1 in countless others.
