Anyone saying guys shouldnt spend time on their hair, clearly hasnt had difficult hair to deal with.
I used to have shoulder length real stoner type stuff and it was a half affro if I didnt do anything about it.
Gel is disgusting and I can honestly say I've NEVER seen ANYONE pickup with gel in their hair.
But I guess that when i was 8, I liked to gel my hair.

Dude dont spike your hair.
I have my hair longish, i striaghten it (becuase i dont like my curls) and put a little bit of gel onto it so i can get my style then i use hair spray to hold it so it looks nice a light.
closest hair style i could find to mine is this, mine is a little shorter but its the same kinda style.
BTW i'm no emo, far from it to be honest.
