What we (as a nation) really need is to get our elbows dirty and earn a steady income while being educated as to how to handle our financial responsibilities. Instead we are allowing people to dwell on the media's view of the "financial crisis" at hand while others are living off of government benefits that clearly don't have strong enough boundaries.

I, for one, am doing just fine after having been laid off from work once and moved to a different state twice. It's all about preparation and goals!

Oh, and it kills me to hear about corporations receiving another bail out check when we should be spending that money on bringing back all our outsourced jobs. What happened to good ol' American made goods? What good is it gonna do to pay a chinese kid 12 cents an hour to make a pair of shoes just so our fat asses can save a buck. Put our people to work and our people will spend the money in our economy thus keeping the delicate cycle flowing..

meh, I'm just bored lol.

First off, /sarcasm.

Secondly, China's really good at producing convoluted and obviously contrived economical PR. It's difficult to take any of their quarterly returns as serious buisness. Not to mention their perpetually fluctuating dollar inflation (or wang or wtv).

On the other hand though, China does seem to be buying up a lot of the US's debts, as always, but more than usual recently... *shrug*

This media, if they don't say a word about the economic no one would know and they would still be spending the same as they were b4. Now everyone stop spending becoz the media everyday taunting and scarring the shit out of everyone. Hell i'm scared to invest my money on anything, even a god damn kleenex.

I blame the media.

Oh and yes communism come handy in these type of situation, I just got back from holiday in China and their economic grow 7% during this quarter lol. Most people don't even know whats going on, gov media don't say much about it coz the gov own the dam media and the currency fluctuation? The gov says how much their money is worth lol not the market. Isn't that sweet lol

but yea i'm sure there are a lot of disadvantage too, which I wont go into..

Partially.
But I also blame the governments push to save failing, stupid companies in a supposedly 'competitive market'. And investing is rather a good idea atm, or in a little bit, though it depends on who you ask.

No, that's not sweet. Stop and think about it for a second.
And 7% is actually a HUGE plummet from predictions prior to this depression and recent analyst predictions. No doubt better than US/CDN, but doesn't prove much if you ask me. They got hit hard too.

Hmm, it seems like people don't realize that THIS is the rainy day, and all that money they've saved, they should be spending now. Well, isn't that ironic >_>

Capitalism works great. we just have morons in the top tier of government, messing it all up. we didn't need the bailout, we needed those companies to die. hopefully this minor recession well show people how they need to take care of their money save some of it and spend within their own means.

United States really isn't capitalist anymore. Once we started bailing out every company on Gods green Earth we went against our capitalist ideals of a FREE market economy. The U.S. is becoming more socialist.

We didn't have to bail out, all we had to do was drop the high taxes on our major corporations so they can bring jobs back, there is sooo much money being dumped overseas. the economy isn't as bad as the great depression, that's what you've had drilled into your head by that bitch pelosi. not to mention cutting taxes for a year+ on all those who live into the states, so all that money stays in the private sector. What this administration is going for is control of the masses.

Capitalism fails when people get lazy and make stupid choices with their money.

A form of communism was tried in the early days of the United States, The Jamestown common-store system comes to mind.

The system will never work at full efficiency when the capitalists are the ones making the laws.

Theoretically communism should have worked. It didn't work because it wasn't in it's purest form. Personal agenda issues at the highest tier, just like capitalism.

Any ideal system, whether it be communism or capitalism, will technically work in its quintessential form. The best we can do is to swing back and forth, like a pendulum, in varying shades of government.

We are swinging back to red, and eventually we'll swing blue again.

Macro economists? Savings is consider a leak in the money system. It also explains why it is better for the government to spend the money themselves because if you give money to people, it is almost certain the people will save.

I never said that I wasn't in favor of the bailout, I just said we are moving away from one of our core economic values. IMO though, the bail out in theory, should work, but we could force all the government spending in the world and it will still not work if the people do not spend money aswell.

China is actually moving more towards capitalism and acceping some capitalist ideals, that doesn't mean they will become like the US tho. Screw communism capitalism is worth it, its the cycle of going into a recession and we will get out of it just like every other time. I'd take capitalism with its problems over communism ANY DAY :)
although sadley we are becoming more socialistic every day

totally agree with that in theory every system is great, they all have their flaws and benefits combining components of both can work best. As far as i know Canadian economy has a mix of capitalist and socialist system.
