why does my fraps suck??

Post by senapanaga »

I can only record 30 seconds of footage, and then I can't even upload it to youtube cuz it says the "filesize is too big" or something. which is ridiculous for a 30 SECOND CLIP because thats ALL that I can record for some reason... :( :(

For starters,

You have to pay for Fraps. It's $15 or £7.50 in Pound Sterling.

With the demo version, you can only record 30 seconds of video capture.

With the full version, you can do unlimited amount of video capture time.

As to the file size of videos, it saves it as a pure AVI file, this is rawr data, so as you can imagine, its going to be huge.

Use something like Virtual Dub with a DIVX codec to compress the file by huge amounts.

Then upload it to You tube :DHmmmm kay?

Matt ^_^

im pretty sure i have DivX something or rather on my comp already.

I saw on youtube some guy was asking these same questions I am and the guy who was making movies told him to go find a crack which is, im pretty sure, like an illegal download of a program isn't it? So what they were doing was illegal... like a 'cracked' version of a file? or somehting? dude hahah im a total computer noob don't bombard me with complex things....about comps....lololol.

DivX Codec is a program p2u (pay to use) which can transform most kinds of videos in DivX videos, making them take less space on your hard drive, and they can be played in most Video players.

Divx also do a free codec, but the quality is slightly lower.
