Brushes are cool and that, but here's a little tip: beware of how u use them. In ur sig, u just brushed it at a diagonal angle. However, the brush u used is more of the picture type, therefore, it would probably look better if u stamped it. Also, bring the render to the front, and have ppl focus on the render instead of brush (it's kind of hard to see render, but brush is lighter color, so ppl looking at it will look at brush and text instead of render, which should be ur focus). Anyways, u've still improved, just keep on trying ^^

Made a new sig, it even has a border

The only thing which i didn't do, was adding effects. Since i thought they would mess it up + i don t know which effect does what.

Blyth has his own style when making sigs dont change it by showing him a tut that hundreds of people have used, if he likes his sig then its good if you dont like it thats only your opinion theres a difference between a critic and a jerk and Remco you are no critic. Critics give helpful advice they dont say 'OMG that sux' or 'LOL thats the worst thing ive ever seen read a tut'

I think everyone's sgn are always GOOD as it look and alots of people in here always come to the forum and never say anything nice except complaining people about the thread they posted and thier signature look ugly or not nice ... Well , i think this is just a forum to see thread and not a place for -Signatrure Contest - So i think everyone have a best signature for their own and ... so yea Blyth siggy are very GOOD thought i will put 9/10 to it .

Erm... that is NOT his own style. They are BRUSHES, brushes that did not make. And you can only compromize your own style if you already know the basics, which he doesn't.

True, they aren't his own brushes.. however is that image you used in your signature yours? Did you goto that basketball game and take that photograph, then go home scan it and render it?

It is his own style, which with a little fine tuning could become a very nice style. Blyth keep it up man.. I know what Remco is saying about knowing the basics but don't get sucked into following tutorials to a T. The point of signatures is creativity, and if you just follow other people's tuts for everything it's pointless.

Basics = tutorials. If you look at his sigs, they are all ugly and the same style. It's true that render isn't mine, but you can't compare a render to brushes, it's totally different. I still added the effects to the render, I changed the render. He didn't do anything with the brushes, he just brushes, contrasts, puts his render in, and look at his 1337 sig which just is nothing.

I agree tutorials do teach most of the basics, but if he doesn't want to use them he doesn't have to.

Think back to when you started Remco, you've most likely gone to deviantart a few times for brushes in your day. I admit brushes are a little outdated now but everyone's gotta start somewhere.

eek thats what happened to me almost a week ago, i made a sig following a tutorial with a tutorial pack (includes brushes, render) so i thought i might as welll try it and i thought my results were pretty good so i posted it here and every1 said i either copied it or stole it lol, but the thing is i read the tutorial like 2 months ago and i wanted to try that style again but this time with that sexy prince of persia render so i went n got it

I try to put different levels of gaussian blur on the different layers. The closer the layer is to the "front" of it, (i.e. the more that certian layer pops out) the more blur is needed. But this isn't always a good idea....

Also when doing grunge brush bg's dont forget to go to 'color balance' which is obvious i presume, and also tweak shadows, highlights, and midtones or w/e it's called again. So you can get brighter more "poppy" colors.

(I didn't do that for my current sig.)

other than that you really shouldn't ask me cuz we're at the same lvl of "ps skills". hahahahah.

They're just a bunch of shapes mixed together. Use the custom shape tool to see the different shapes you can use.
