Don't put everything into a girlfriend, make sure you can still have fun/freedom without her.

New idea: Go hiking (have no idea what terrain is like around you, but lots of forest around me)
Playing on Devias SRO - Ashikiheyun if you want a guild PM me here or in-game.

Grimjaw wrote:I see, thank you for telling me. What made you consider, and ultimately decide upon the military then? Were there no other paths for you to take? In any case, I am impressed with your dedication and sense of duty. Your sense of patriotism must be strong. Or are you entering the army because you believe it to be the only option for you to take? And that you are constantly job searching must indeed take it's toll on your nerves as well, or at least give you some unrest occasionally. And the way you share your story with me, it seems like you have a lot to manage in a short time frame. I believe that no good can come from prolonged forms of stress though, you might burn yourself out before you even get into the military. And that would be a real shame because to me it seems like you are betting most of your money on that goal. Apart from all this seriousness, I do believe some good movies are coming out this year. So you might want to keep that phone close by, just in case you feel the need to relieve some stress. :)

My step dad is in the military right now. Air Force to be more exact. I've grown up around that way of life for the last 8 years or so. That wasn't the main reason for me deciding to join though. It was a whole collaboration of things. As I stated before, I am in school. College. But I'm sponging off my parents for money and a place to live. It might be my ego or pride, but I decided I want to do something with my life. I don't want to be dependent on them. Other than that, the military benefits enticed me a lot. Medical care, they pay for college, housing, a job. A life. As for other options, I could stay where I am and continue to sponge off my parents. Needless to say, my mom would love that, as she doesn't want her first born child to leave her yet. I could stay here, continue college, get a degree, and then join. But the whole time, I'd be disappointed with myself, knowing I can do better. Knowing I can be a better person, and knowing that I could be out there fighting for my country. Ha, and apart from all this seriousness, I have made plans to go see Watchmen soon. Thanks for the tip though. Expect a thread in about a month and a half about me getting ready to leave for Air Force Basic Training.

So I was right about my first assumptions.. I always did wonder what compelled most people to join the military. Thinking perhaps some would join up apart from the lush offers they were presented. But I do hope it works out for you ultimately and I hope you won't be disappointed by your choices. And I look forward to your thread.

The main reason is the desire to do something with my life. Not to be the soon to be 19 year old at home sponging off his parents.
