yeah probably
Re: wat matters the most when choosing a job
Can't pick one. =/ Has to be a combination of some of them, but w/e.
Depends on the job too. If it's just some summer job to make money, no need to enjoy it I guess. If it's something you'll be doing for the rest of your life... waka waka.

Re: wat matters the most when choosing a job
Only one option?
Personally I think that:
1-Having fun at the job.
2-Fun people around me.
3-Pays decent.
4-Not to far away.
I have 1-3 in my job.
P.S: Working as a software dev for a fairly large Dutch Firm.

Money isn't everything. Some of the best jobs I have had I was earning peanuts. But I was much happier in those jobs then when I have been earning a decent wage.

You gave several up eventually..... I have had 2 jobs so far, atm I'm getting payed more then most my age. But its mainly just fun, the money is just extra. If you don't like your work you'll prrly get stressed faster etc. Anyway, whatever rock your boat, I don't like my life all about just teh money.

I would rather make $10 an hour doing something I loved than make $30 an hour doing something I hated.

Re: wat matters the most when choosing a job
I was gonna select "enjoying what you do," but then I scanned down the list and saw "benefits" lol. Living in the U.S, even if you do have health insurance you still get fcked over, and with my health condition (type 1 Diabetes), "benefits" are more appealing.

We should stop treating people like objects, or at least treat our objects with more respect.

Re: wat matters the most when choosing a job
You might earn a lot of money in your job but you have to think about what's going to happen in the long run. Even if you know you need to support your family, if you really don't like a job, it's going to affect you and your interaction with other people. Know your priorities and make sure you at least like the job even if you don't love it.

QFT
Hating your job can lead to stress and anxiety which, if untreated or ignored, can lead to serious health issues, including mental health issues. Anxiety attacks are no fun!

Re: wat matters the most when choosing a job
Using your skillz. I didn't spend all this money at college to get stuck at some desk doing write ups. As far as doing something you love, thats a piss up. As long as your doing something you don't hate it should be good enough. Doing something you love is why we have so many kids going to "art school" which means they'll be poor and useless and end up working at dennys. And as far as doing something for just the paycheck, well that kinda makes you a whore imo.

lol well someone's gotta work there
EDIT: And you most likely did spend all your time and money to get stuck in job where you don't really use a lot of your skills (unless you're in a technical profession). At least until you're considered an "experienced professional" or you get really f-ing lucky when you land a job.

Re: wat matters the most when choosing a job
I'll be joining the military, and in the military you get paid by rank, so pay isn't a huge worry for me. So when I talk to my recruiter and we put everything in writing, I will be choosing a job doing something that I enjoy. Thus, I picked enjoying what you do.

lol well someone's gotta work thereBesides, if working at a place like Denny's enables them the time, energy, and lifestyle necessary to pursue their art, more power to them.

No its called going to college for a career that matters, its called going to the right college so you have contacts and job offers set up before you leave college, its called making something of your life and not riding the wave hoping for the best. Basically its called not being stupid.
