You missed my point. Australia rarely takes on a country on its own. We would fight at the defense of the United Kingdom and the United States. I'm aware that N.Korea is quite a strong army, but the US would defeat them.

US lost so much soldiers not because the allmighty Iraqis with their rpgs were so trained or whatsoever. You can't even compare or call it a war when you basically enter and have to fight specific group and basically checking what you shoot before you do , and not just cleaning all around - that would be pretty easy , there is also no need in soldiers being sent inside (set up artillery , bomb from air - that is it)

A war involving N Korea means refugees, lots and lots of them, streaming over the boarders into China. China hates the prospect of having to take on refugees and doesn't want to deal with it. A massive influx of refugees on the already strained Chinese economy has the potential to cause destabilization. Nothing like a couple million impoverished, starving farmers rioting, ei?
