Love these russian kids always talking about WW3 and how the mighty Russia will win and all that, and how people are afraid of them.

I think that if a war were to break out. There would be only a few countries stupid enough to use it.

That was what I was getting at. :P Didn't want to offend anyone so I didn't name anyone. Iran and Russia, possibly China would be the only ones stupid enough to actually use the bombs. China have the technology, but lack the training really. 2.8 million strong, 2.7 million somewhat untrained. They're well discipline though, don't get me wrong.

Yes. We, Australians are most comfortable in an Air-to-Air dogfight like combat, or on the ground in Jungle warfare. Though are still trained in desert warfare. I just hope people don't use their nukes.

Other good aircraft.

China and Pakistan's J10 Fighter-Bomber.

Also the Su-34 from Russia is a good jet.

Can't imagine the old Tomcat coming back. The US has moved onto an even better F/A-18E/F Super Hornet.

LOL F-18 sucks big ass compared to the F-14!

1st. How long did the F-14 Serve for? A bit more than 35 years I believe.
2nd. F-18 will probably be replaced soon, if not already
3rd. What good is the F-18? apart from showing off with the Blue Angles!

There.

F-14 will eat the F-18 alive

I'm sure the Tomcat would. The US isn't a country to constantly update technology on 30 year old planes. Australia only does that to our 40 year old F-111's. Instead America just got the F/A-18E/F SH and replaced it in 2006. It worked well for a while, then began to go down-hill. Australia is also talking of replacing our old F/A-18AB Hornets with the F/A-18E/F SH. (I'm sick of writing FA18!). All that aside, the F14's days are over.

The F-14 had some problems that costed many pilot lives so they removed it

Wrong.

The F-14 started out with lots of engine problems endangering the livees of pilots but corrected those mistakes with the super tomcat. The tomcat isn't very manoeverable or suited to a support role and was used as a fleet defense fighter. With the stuff that they have to put up with now, an aircraft dedicated solely to that role is useless.

One F-117 was shot down in serbia in 1999
Combat losses
Canopy of F-117 shot down on 27 March 1999, near the village of Buđanovci, Serbia (Museum of Aviation in Belgrade)

One F-117 has been lost in combat, to the Yugoslav Army. On 27 March 1999, during the Kosovo War, the 3rd Battalion of the 250th Missile Brigade under the command of Colonel Zoltán Dani[33], equipped with the Isayev S-125 'Neva' (NATO designation SA-3 'Goa') anti-aircraft missile system, downed a F-117A callsign "Vega 31," AF Serial Number 82-0806, with a Serbian improved Neva-M missile.[34][35] According to NATO Commander Wesley Clark and other NATO generals, Yugoslav air defences detected F-117s by operating their radars on unusually long wavelengths, making them visible to radar for brief periods.

Reportedly, several SA-3s were launched from approximately 8 miles out, one of which detonated in close proximity to the F-117A, forcing the pilot to eject. Though still classified, it is believed that the F-117 has no radar warning indicator, so the pilot's first indication of an incoming missile was likely seeing its flame. At this distance and combined speed the pilot had about 6 seconds to react before impact. According to an interview, Zoltán Dani kept most of his missile sites intact by frequently moving them, and had spotters looking for F-117s and other NATO aircraft. He personally supervised the modification of his targeting radar to increase its wavelength. The commanders and crews of the SAMs guessed the flight paths of earlier F-117A strikes from rare radar spotting and positioned their SAM launchers and spotters accordingly. It is believed that the SA-3 crews and spotters were able to locate and track F-117A 82-806 visually, probably with infra-red and night vision systems. He claimed that his battery shot down an F-16 as well.

The F-117 pilot survived and was later rescued by U.S. Air Force Pararescue personnel. The wreckage of the F-117 was not promptly bombed, due to possible media fallout from news footage of civilians around the wreckage. The Serbs are believed to have invited Russian personnel to inspect the remains, compromising the then 25-year old U.S. stealth technology.[36] The remains are displayed at the Museum of Aviation in Belgrade close to Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport. An error was made by many about the pilot's identity. While the name "Capt Ken 'Wiz' Dwelle" was painted on the canopy, it was revealed in 2007 that the pilot was Lt Col Dale Zelko, USAF.[37][38][39][40]

Some American sources acknowledge that a second F-117A was damaged during the same campaign, and although returned to base, it supposedly never flew again.[41][42]

I dont think India puts much stock into its Air Force, its more concered with
keep its army up to scratch (3rd largest standing army in the world after China
and US) to protect/invade across the border with Pakistan.

how come how mod hasn't ban elitebower? every topic on this forums is ruin by him, he flames everyone about everything.

backontopic: elitebower youre wrong. F-22 cost more than F-35. The only reason the USA and other countries created the F-35 because it was cheaper to make. For future preference dont argue with me i am aerospace engineer. i know youre going to flame but that is good because just another reason for mod to ban you.
