On the night Barack Obama was elected our 44th President, more than 58 million voters cast their ballots for John McCain. Journalist/filmmaker Alexandra Pelosi presents this first-person, cross-country snapshot of a group of conservative Americans who saw their hopes and dreams evaporate in the wake of the decisive Democratic victory in the 2008 Presidential election. Filmed in the months leading up to that historic event, Pelosi gives a voice to these voters, once labeled "the silent majority," and explores their feelings about a changing America in which they live.
Has anyone seen this documentary? Watched it the other day. Had cancelled HBO so I had to grab the torrent. It's pretty entertaining.
Found it on YouTube today, so I thought I'd share:
Just went and watched it on HBO, pretty surprising to see the opinions of those states. I found it funny to see how uninformed most of the people interviewed were. Though i did like the guy who admitted that the south isn't ready for Obama and that he thinks women shouldn't be allowed to vote.
never knew it got so out of hand, they feel so strongly, but they didn't really give supporting facts or details , they said stuff without support..... But I support neither one of them.
They should really show both sides but the media would never let that happen.
Xlax, you're the first person who didnt ride all over my balls and call me a biggot racist redneck POS from the forums... kudos. its funny though how people act like the only reason you wouldnt like obama is because hes 1/2 black..
Hey, it was either McCain or nobody in my book, and a little off topic, I note that usually it's the "liberals" that bring up the race card while some of us vote issues, not color...but Obama is already proving himself to be exactly what I thought he was.
Tax cuts for middle class? sure...anyone noticed he increased the tax on small business owners?
I don't get these people that vote over things like abortion and morality, and on the left side; I don't get the people that vote because they expect handouts. Where are the Robert Tafts, Thomas Jeffersons, and Andrew Jacksons of the 21st century? QQ
no no cpinney, not you i was giving props to xlax for saying "you have your reasons, i hope its not race" which isnt somthing i get alot on the interwebs, im always called racist. :{ But in terms of morality the far right is as bad as the far left.
cpinney wrote:i didnt ride on your balls mens. like a guy said in the video, there are just some people that give the right wing a bad name.
Are you talking about those black guys?
no not the black guys, the guy near the end of the forth video.

Its odd John McCain isn't even very religious but they are voting for him because they are Christians. These people make real conservatives look like fools. Thank god they are dying out
I just finished watching the last part and those people proved their stupidity by saying they wanted to move to other countries. Other countries which are much more liberal than the US lmao.
