Getting discouraged making a nuker...

So I'm at level 21 currently, about halfway to 22. The leveling is starting to become incredibly slow. Until now I've been using a sword/shield, but that's probably hurting my leveling rate even more.

Do you think switching to spear would help me level faster? Would you say leveling through the low 30's is faster for a nuker than leveling through the high 20's? On account of getting real nukes that is...

use a spear and use imbue, soul spear, then shout (if necessary) until level 30 (or lure with shout). Most mobs will die to soul spear. Having the extra in spear passive helps too.

When my nuker was in the 20's I loved it (betteer now with nukes).

Alright. It must just be the sword/shield combo hurting me then. I thought it was just my imagination. The only reason I started using the sword is because I found a level 16 sos crit 7 sword on a stall for 50K. Guess I'll pawn that off for a healthy profit and get myself a decent spear...

You might also just pick a bow.. and only kill with imbue till lvl 30

Int's have high attackpower from their imbue anyways.. so it won't be that superduperhard to do that way. Ofcourse you're fine useing a spear to xD doesn't really matter much lol

I've been using sword since level 16, and never had any trouble levelling. At your level I had an 7 level gap, and still went through it quite quickly. Just a matter of some decent equipment, not taking on too high enemies, autopotting set up correctly, and then have some fun with lightning vs multiple opponents.

using a bow through the 20's is definitely faster (u can also hotkey bow and spear for bow as farther draw and then spear when they're almost going to hit you this saves a LOT of hp pots) since u don't have to move around as much

Instead of a bow just use lion shout?

Many times I'll use lion shout to draw 'em close, but the sword just isn't a quick finisher. After I get off work I'll switch to a spear to see if there's a big difference. Besides...the spear will give me a better nuke hit than a sword would, right?

Yes, the damage range on a spear goes higher than that of a sword. That is if we are talking about relatively equal weapons.

Started using a spear to level with and it's definitely MUCH faster. Looks like my caster has hope after all. At later levels I may go back to sword/shield for farming, but I'll probably just end up deleveling the 20 I put into it.

assuming that u farmed atleast a little bit.. u should still ahve antidevil and dual arrow

use that with imbue and it shouldnt be a problem....

I never went with bow. It's the one mastery I haven't tried in this game, yet. I've even tried force believe it or not. Right now I'm concentrating on this single line, mostly, lightning nuker. We'll see how it goes...

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll keep the bow stuff in mind for my next toon.

I like the fact that you put goals in your sig. Too many people assume they will be level 70, etc and end up quitting after they hit 35.

You will really love nukes, make sure that you have sufficient skill points, it can be frustrating without them esp on a nuker.

Thanks! I have no plans of quitting before 35. In fact I'm making a single line nuker, with a 0 gap, currently to make sure of that. If I get a decent foothold in this game I'll be sticking around quite a while. I tried a character with a 5 level gap at first and it was just way too slow for me. Last night I got to 23, about 90% to 24. The spear really made a big difference in killing speed. I even moved my recall point to Donwang now that my Jangan quests are done.

At level 23 I have a 22 wolf, three SOS drops and over a million gold. The luck I've had in this game has definitely helped me continue on quite a bit. Not to mention the fun of buying low and selling high through the stalls. That's how the majority of my money has been made so far.

Oh yeah...and I can't wait to get my first nuke. :twisted:
