Was watching Youtube videos when I came across the Didgeridoo. The Didgeridoo is an ancient Australian wooden instrument thought to be over 1500 years old and used by the Native Australians Aboriginals from the Kakadu region. Only men are allowed to play the Didgeridoo and women play clapsticks.

It really is an amazing instrument and is by far one of the hardest to play as it requires circular breathing. It sounds good when played properly.

The Aboriginal men say it makes the women infertile and instead they were only allowed them to sing or play the clapsticks. It was, and still is considered Taboo to let a woman play.

The Oscar winner made an appearance on German show Wetten, Dass...? over the weekend and tried to play the instrument which, according to Aboriginal custom, women are forbiddden to play - claiming it makes them infertile.

haha well I was sleeping otherwise I would have answered that before
The answer I gave was my interpretation of a documentary I watched on Australian Culture in school. Then I Googled the article of Nicole Kidman playing the Didgeridoo because I remembered she did when she was advertising the movie "Australia".
Women especially need to be aware that some indigenous folk see that women shouldn't play didgeridoo at all. They have strong beliefs and may feel offended by insensitivity to this. Some indigenous folk are fine that white women play, others may be quite upset. Different tribes have different beliefs so be aware that there are many approaches. Some are more tolerant others aren't. Some have approved certain women in certain situations to play some are lenient with playing socially, many are totally prohibitive about women playing.
