Disable AVG, reinstall ecSRO. AVG deletes sro_client.exe file

So my bro just d/l'd ecsro and he is complaining about the error 2 crap. he doesnt use avg, he used mcafee and he doesnt know what to do.


got any feedback?

McAfee likes to quarantine sro_client.exe. You have to go into the restore menu and restore the file. If it's not in the quarantined files, McAfee deleted it, so turn it off and reinstall.

I use McAfee too, but I can't figure out how to stop it from messing with it completely >.>

the sraecsro file isnt working for me. When i double click it it has the little wait thing but ive been waiting for like 20 minutes and nothings popped up.

@NoHunta, Here are two steps to follow when installing if you have vista

Disable AV Protection for the install.
Right Click EXE>Properties>Run with administrator

Should fix the problem :D

With the autopot your antivirus thinks its a virus like the sro_client.exe

when i click on the link to downlad the client, it just goes to the filefront homepage.......
started playing sro again after a year...

I cant get in , it says i need Direct X 9.0b but when i download it it says i alrdy have updated version and i also tried going to sroaddiction and going properties and compability mode it doesnt work

Im using Windows XP .............
I followed all steps/

Alright so of course my computer is making this as hard for me as possible. I installed the game installed the patch, got error code two. Uninstalled, reinstalled, repatched while AVG was on. Now I have error code 5. Shut down AVG repeated all the reinstalling/repatching, I still have error code 5.

Anyone know what to do?

uninstall ur avg, restart ur pc, reinstall sro, make it to run with windows 95/98...
it should work
