Re: Would you visit chernobyl?especialy the pripyat ghost town?
I have no idea what kind of radion there is but, if there is any plutonium type its gonna be hard for people to move anytime soon there, or maybe never....I remember from high school that there is a formula to estimate the decay times of radiation types but its been so long hehe. I remember that plutonium has a half-life of about 20k years and i guess it would be needed to complete about 20 half-lifes so the remaining radiation would not be dangerous to humans. Sounds crazy but even to this day, most western european countries (mostly affected by the radiation cloud) still do radiation measurements on specific areas, especially agriculture products because there still is radiation. Would suck if something like Chernobyl accident happened again.

In the documentary I watched there was a camera man/guy filming the whole thing from a helicopter. I think he died right away soon after but I don't remember.
I need to read up on the forest part, I know nothing about it >_<

Wouldn't it also affect the nearby rivers, water system or environment? causing it to spread to nearby places or they isolated the thing?
u kiddin me =.='? it won't be safe to live for centuries there. radation will never completely disappear, seeing as any existing...thing is radioactive to start with. however it will take a LONG time to decay something like that. alot more than 20 years.

Would like to go there, But it'll take another xxx years for that radiation to decay, it's not a cloud that simply blows away.
