I've been with my current girlfriend for about a year and a half now. And I've known her for 3 years or so.
-She came to the school she was new. We had a lot of lessons together. However during our period of 'getting to know' each other, I was involved with another girl. So we became really good friends.
-She dated some other guy for about 6months, before I found my now ex girlfriend.
-The guy(a) left her. I was the first person she called.
-My girlfriend(b) and I broke up 'mutually'. 5 days later a + b hooked up. I was glad, as I realized I was over her.
-Our friendship continued and blossomed (eventually) into what it is today. We've now left school, and I've moved to where she is going to University.

Life is good.

So basically, if you follow that formula you can't go wrong

thinking about most of the serious replies, if you really like her, be who you are, don't try to follow your mates, like, mostly, ur mates from school, whenever u meet a girl and like her, they try to make you rush things, and try to make u be a player, and try to make fun of you if you keep it cool and smooth, and get her "decently".
It all ends up on what kind of relationship u want, and how u like the girl tho, imo.
If you really like her, follow what most of the "serious replies" say.
Just be genuine with her, and yourself, but remember, you "always" have to be a little player, when i talk about beeing a little player, i don't mean lieing and dirty stuff like that, aka treating her like an object, etc. I mean, keep it "cool", don't get a brother and sister atmosphere going on, otherwise, it can get tricky :/

I guess I'm just a rare exception then? No. I know a lot of people who's relationships have lasted the transition from High School > University/College.

Really, if you said your new to the school don't rush it. No offense but you kinda sound like a push over and when you are first getting to know a girl they love confidence and humor. If your in high school or higher try to get her to go to a party with you then you can see how she really feels about you.
