Paypall question D:

Ok so i was gonna buy one of those visa cards from a gas station or something, and then put the money on paypal.
so 2 questions...
I heard paypall takes money from the card before you put it. ex: $20 card after you put it its gonna only be $15.
also any guide on how to do it ^^.

You want to add a Gift card 'credit card' type thing to pay pall? WHY? Just use the card to buy whatever you need to buy, or set up your bank account with pay pal.

cant set up a bank account below the age of 18 in the US i think,

Because i'm using it to buy silk, and stuff. And as wolf said you can't set up a bank account under the age of 18. Credit cards under the age of 16, and i didn't hit 16 yet.

Yes you can. Wamu and OSU Federal in my Town allow Student and Teen checking/savings accounts. You just can't get a Debit card because it requires you to sign with master card and that's where the 18 Requirement is =]

I have a green Dot Visa on my paypal account until May. It's only $1 that got taken out to make a paypal account.

Use the Reload Locator on that page to find out where you can get em and reload em. It requires a Parent to call in if you are under 18.

Why are you registering it with paypal verfo? Why not just charge it directly to your CC? Or doesn't SRO allow you to do that? ( i dont quite know what the payments options are, i just assume you can do it )

You can, just choose the paypal option to pay, and it will give you the option of either using your paypal account or just from a Credit or Debit card.

Be careful on what type of gift credit card you're going to get. Don't buy the vanilla visa crap since they don't work on PayPal. You need giftcards that allow you to add a complete billing address and not just a zipcode. giftcardmall and walmart giftcards seem to work just fine and they only take a dollar deposit from your gift card.

and dont forget to activate it before using. takes about 30 minutes in most cases.

It's not a gift card. It's a Pre- Paid Visa Green Dot. Get that if you want to be able to re use it.

Doesn't/Didn't Paypal have issues with Greendot? I considered using that a while ago since I didn't want to use my real CC but I read numerous negative reviews about it. Some people had hundreds or thousands of dollars "frozen" by Paypal due to BS issues with Greendot.
